I believe the less applied to majors should get letters back earlier
@Vipper would you know the students stats?
My D applied for finance. Her app was complete by Nov 18th. No word yet.
Last year I believe it was into March before all were notified. Seemed to go by major. Fine arts and nursing were earlier. My son was engineering. Didn’t get into main campus and went elsewhere. People were getting admitted and denied day by day. Seemed to be no rhyme or reason. UCONN’s system of notification was a big turn off. If you read last years thread you will get a feel for the process. Hope that they changed it for this years applicants.
2years ago my son applied for Engineering. He found out on Feb 8th.
DD received her acceptance two days ago.
@augmom…was it for Storrs? How did she find out? Wonder if they post decisions at a certain time of day?
@shoddy…I hope I do not have to wait until March. husky96 stated in an earlier post they have already evaluated the 1st batch of apps…hopefully my daughter is in that batch…plus she does have a less applied to Major…hope that helps!
Yes, it was for Storrs. She logged onto her account and saw a message saying her admissions decision had been posted. Clicked to see it and there was the acceptance along with the link to pay the deposit. She found it online before actually receiving notice in the mail.
D also received acceptance to Storrs campus.
@maryversity congrates! Would you mind sharing her major?
Thank u! Got a happy little husky

Hope you all hear good news soon
@maryversity Congrats! From what I have read on here Arts hear 1st, as well as transfers. Did her status change a day before the decision was posted or did you get it in the regular mail? I have heard some people get an email to alert them of a decision. ANy info you could provide would be appreciated. We were fine for months, but now that a decision is close we are getting a little crazed and I would love to know if there is a signal that a decision is coming, or if it is just a surprise 1 day when you check your status.
Actually your post about twitter news was the motivation to check online…it said a decision was available when she signed in. She got the hard copy by mail a few days later.
UConn is my D’s 1st choice…we heard from Rutgers In Oct and PSU in Nov…the wait is killing us! And I am on the PSU threads on this website and I can now relate to all those parents still waiting on their PSU decision! We were lucky to hear so early from PSU…hope that luck carries over to UConn and I hear by early Feb!
Congrats on the other admissions!!! I know the wait is rough…such a stressful time.
What does she want to major in?
Animal Science…with a Minor in Equine Science…and a 2nd Minor in Therapeutic Horsemanship…which only UConn offers…so she REALLY wants to get in. It helps that my best friend of 40+ years lives close by…since I will be over 3 hours away in NJ
Well, if it helps, I’ll be sending positive thoughts your way! And yes, UConn really has some really unique majors, plus it is sooo beautiful…
From what I saw on the boards last year, admissions are released at various times, so it’s probably best to focus thinking it will be on March 1 so it’s not a daily up and down. Then if you hear sooner, it will be a happy surprise I only had hope of possible early news because of the portfolio submission having the earlier deadline in Dec. Keep the faith
Just passing this on: 2 years ago my son was applying to UCONN for mechanical engineering. He was accepted on Feb. 8th. He is a sophomore there, now. Good luck to all waiting! (including my D. She is applying for Finance.).
