Admissions Decision

D accepted at Storrs with invite to honors and 15K scholarship. OOS, 2250 SAT and 4.3 wGPA.

Per year - we were pleasantly surprised as well!!

TLD1267, my daughter (current freshman) was top 4% of her class (out of 550) and did not receive any merit/scholarship money. Should I question? She is not in honors program.

@reenski Top 4% is quite an accomplishment! I am out of state and I know many awards are only for CT residents.I think I am going to call again. For all I know there are students answering the phone in the Admissions Office…maybe I never even spoke to an Admissions Counselor. I certainly don’t know if anything can be done once you start your 1st year. There is nothing clear in writing on their website, as far as the criteria. I have seen kids post about getting money without getting in honors program. I did just learn on another thread that you can apply for honors after freshman year.

From what I heard, you need to be top 10% , GPA >=3.5 ( or 3.7 I dont remember) and C+R >= 1350 to receive a merit scholarship.

not totally true. My sat combined was around a 1240 or something with 4.0 gpa and i got 15k per year (OOS).

I don’t think you need to be in the top 10% to receive merit aid; someone I know got 5k/year who definitely isn’t in the top 10% of the class, and I also did and my school doesn’t rank (idk how UConn calculates it if your high school doesn’t rank).

I did call again and was told merit $ and scholarships are given ONLY if you are top 10% AND have a certain SAT…and still I see comments posted here where that has not been the case. It is quite frustrating! I guess at this point I will wait until I am there in person on Admitted Students Day. Not sure how they make a decision if a HS does not rank…

@TLD1267 My school doesn’t rank so they only went by SAT Scores

I got waitlisted, any idea how many people in total got waitlisted as well. I’m in state so I’m banking on Uconn as my top school. If not i’ll go to the Uconn Stamford instead of storrs.

Accepted will be attending this fall!

I know people who have accidently clicked on withdraw, you have the chance to cancel!

I got accepted early February as a transfer student for Pre-Kinseology. I got the letter last week in the mail though.

does anybody know if UConn superscores ACT for the Honors College? I sent two tests, one a 29 and the other a 31, but the superscore is a 32 so I’m hoping that helps me get in

HELP I withdrew my admission because I thought I was locked in at another college but money fell through… (I know this is stupid, spare me please) Do you guys think theres any way I can undo this? I emailed the help center but I’m panicking.

Definitely call the admissions office ASAP. It never hurts to ask! Let us know what happens. Good luck.
