Admissions Decision

No update on mines, did that option just appear ?

Yes, and at the bottom of the page, it says, “NOTE: New students admitted for the 2015-2016 academic year are not eligible for summer 2015 financial aid” Soooooooooo…?

That is same question I had. When was the last time you checked before those “new” links appeared?

Last time (before these showed up) was at 8:30 or so this morning.

NOTE: New students admitted for the 2015-2016 academic year are not eligible for summer 2015 financial aid"
i see this whats does this mean

I got the same thing too. Along with the email and financial aid. Guess we wait for the actual decisions

Status wording changed for D too–and I see the scholarship link. Still, nothing is 100% accurate until the final word comes down! I think we’ve all learned that ANYTHING can happen! Good luck everyone!

Couldn’t help it and decided to call. Woman on phone said that they are mailing decisions to get to students end of this week, beginning of next. Decisions in the portals will be turned on sometime late this week, early next, too. She’s not sure if you’ll get letter first or see results. As to all the links and funny clues, she says we shouldn’t read into any of it as there are many various decisions that can happen (admit, deny, waitlist, admit to branch campus, etc). It also sounds like everything is being updated gradually over the next several days, as they have 30,000 or so applicants to answer. So from that I’d say don’t stress if your student center isn’t updated–anything is possible. She was surprised to hear about any financial aid links as that isn’t determined until around the end of March.

I’m generally skeptical about anything someone who answers the phone at the admissions office says, but I guess the best advice is to not try to analyze it and wait for the mail. Not easy to do, but I guess it makes sense.

Thank you for checking, @ncny215‌. Just one question – is there a summer admit (like Penn State) whereby if your decision letter says “summer” you HAVE to go or else the offer is no good? I don’t remember there being an option to agree to a summer session prior to Fall 2015.

I HAVE NO UPDATE NOTHING since nov 10
anyone else???

Good words of advice. It’s hard but we all need to take a deep breath and relax. Breathe.

Just got an e-mail this afternoon from UConn that says:

Dear ___:

We know you are anxiously awaiting your admission decision, but there is one more thing to do.
To be considered for financial aid, you will need to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than March 1st if you are interested in meeting the financial aid application priority deadline. …

Does anyone think admissions would be cruel enough to send that to people they were planning to reject? (I realize that one of the possible answers is “yes”.)

Current NetID status: 2-paragraph “coming days” text update; no Financial Aid link, no campus e-mail.

Many of us got that financial aid email a little while ago. But to answer your question, yes they would send that out to people they might deny.

never got the email… but I do have the campus email, the scholarship thing, and the financial aid thing on my uconn acount

All schools send out these email-typically to all applicants. This late in the year the FAFSA deadline can be before decisions are being released. It’s not being cruel it’s just the way things work. There is nothing anyone can do to change what the decisions will be. My oldest daughter didn’t get her first choice but four years later she is thrilled she didn’t get accepted as she knows she would have hated it.

The best thing to do is follow Aaron Rodgers advice & R-E-L-A-X:)

Son just got e-mail about Financial Aid. And yes, I absolutely think they would send an e-mail like that to all applicants, even those that are about to be denied. Have seen it before. They do a global e-mail to all applicants.

just got the email too!!

In my opinion if you have a campus email you are in. It would just be illogical to have one and not be accepted into the school. But I think we just have to wait and see

My son has been taking the UConn college courses and has had an email since the beginning
