S received acceptance package in the mail today.

Good luck everyone!

Modadunn, those darn portals are finicky. I don’t think it’s a sign. As I said up-thread, D received her acceptance in the mail today. Her portal says decisions will be posted on Monday, March 26.

Santa Clara was the last decision D was waiting on. Now it’s time for THE decision after a spring break road trip to revisit top choices (of which SCU is one).

Good luck everyone!

Accepted! Does financial aid/any merit scholarships come separately?

Did anyone’s acceptance package include merit scholarship/financial aid info, or will that come later?

BTW, portal said “admit” for my S today for about 2 hours, then replaced again with the application date and “Admission decisions will be posted here on Monday, March 26. We appreciate your patience.”

I’m guessing that they mailed decisions hoping that they will arrive prior to the Monday postings, but still waiting here in Colorado…and waiting…and waiting…

LavaLava, Ds said “admit” earlier then changed to the Monday message. She (as my son did three years ago) laughs at me trying to find backdoor ways to find admissions results first.

The letter that came with the packet today said merit & FA info would be posted on the portal, and that they would send an email once it’s available.

surflj, thanks for the info, sounds like I will have to put my patient hat on for a while again! I am assuming he’s accepted based on the “admit”, but we will need merit or FA to make it work. We were hoping to know the financial info before buying plane tickets to come out for admitted student day. Not sure what to do now, hate to sit here and watch fares go up while we wait for info!

Thanks everyone for your support… my daughter and I took a nice walk. This is going to be a long weekend!

Hi everyone! I was on the SCU portal and for a good few hours it showed ‘deny’ under the application status. However I just logged in again and it says “Admission decisions will be posted here on Monday, March 26. We appreciate your patience”. What does this mean? It’s funny that if they I’m denied, I still have to wait till Monday. I haven’t received any formal mails from SCU though. Was the portal wrong earlier or is this just giving me false hope? Haha.

LavaLava, congradulations on your son’s acceptance. In previous years, Presidential/Provost scholarship was notified together with the acceptance letter. Other scholarship was notified separately.

I am guessing that somehow they went live with decisions prior to their wanting to (like someone flipped a switch and then flipped it off). And I agree about the flight issue. My D is just about to start her spring sport which is hugely busy but based on results, Santa Clara would be a top pick. Still, she’d have to go and see it. And despite our being full pay or BECAUSE OF IT… it is no small sacrifice both in time and money to get on a last minute flight to CA. But we can’t plan around student days. We have to plan around game schedules. Oh I hope she gets good news, but based on results so far, I think it might be a no. We’re not catholic, she had yet to visit, Math and English ACT’s right in there, but science portion dragged her comp down to a just barely. So… we’ll see!

I got my acceptance letter in the mail on thursday, 3.3 gpa 2120 pretty good ec’s.
so happy!!!
hoping for a scholarship offer though…

Thank you, a_mom! It is a guarded excitement around here right now, really need that financial piece to come through!

Modadunn, I understand about the sports issue. Not sure of the rules in Minnesota, but high school sports in Colorado cannot (officially) practice or play games on Sundays. S has a baseball game on Saturday afternoon the 14th, so our window for admitted student days is to fly out Saturday night and back Sunday night! Quick trip, but still not quite as far as for you.

Also, I wouldn’t put too much stock in the religious aspect or the fact that you haven’t had a chance to visit yet. From everything I’ve read and heard, SCU is top notch at looking at the whole student. I’m sure a 36 on the ACT would certainly help, but I don’t know that a low score on one portion would be a deal breaker, especially if your D will be majoring in something not science related.

“Anyone from Washington state receive a decision today?”

Son got his acceptance in the mail today, Saturday. Hope your kid’s package came today also.

No big OR little envelopes today… so I am taking that as good news. :)

We don’t play games on Sunday either, but Tues, Thursday, and Saturday they do! Plus we have a weekend trip this year. D is a capt starter… and we’ll figure it out, and truth is, I’d rather be tying to figure it out than not having to bother!!!

Crossing fingers because no… what she wants to do has little to do with science (even though the test is more about your speed in reading scientific material).

Received my packet in the mail yesterday! (I live about 65 miles south of SCU) But I’m confused with the whole portal thing and am eager to know if I received any awards. Best of luck to all others :)

meow, you should have received an email (and maybe even a letter also) a long time ago with portal information, your user name and password. Did you get that? If so, it seems when you log into it (and they release the information), that you should be able to check the awards.

busdriver11: Yeah I received that a while ago and my portal, as everyone elses, says decisions will be up Monday although I already know I’ve been accepted. I’m sure financial aid will pop up later this week though.

Congrats to your son yesterday receiving the great news. We thought for sure she was going to receive something in the mail, hopefully she can look up her status tomorrow.
She did receive the UW admission info to fill out and return. Best wishes everyone.

So if on the portal, under Application Status it says Admit that means I’m accepted? I haven’t gotten anything in the mail yet. ( I live in Connecticut)

kyledubs: My son’s portal also says ‘Admit’ and he in fact received his admission package last Thursday (we are in Bay Area). So, I guess, congrats!
