ADMISSIONS Decisions are coming sooner than we think

weird.. i dont remember if mine has always said that or if its a new change.

i hope we find out soonnnn.

im pretty sure thats a new thing

It used to say that it is complete, not review is complete

Yes well.. if the review of my application is complete, you would think a decision would follow soon after and therefore, there would be no reason to make me wait until MID APRIL!?!?!!

Exactly, I don't see why they can't post the decisions, and make us wait a few days for the fin aid or scholoarships/

Because it's a lengthy process. Even if they did finish reviewing all of the applications this week (which may or may not be the case), do you know how long it would take a person to sit at a computer and input "admitted" or "not admitted" for every single applicant? Quite some time. Would you rather them rush the process and make a mistake?

Just be patient. They were nice enough to let you know that the process is moving along. Give them time to do what they need to do.

And BTW, the studentlink is usually updated in real time--it does not get updated over night. That means that things like charges to your student account or financial aid changes (and probably admissions decisions) are posted as soon as someone makes the change on BU's end. That also means that changes are only made when someone's there to change them (i.e. 9-5 M-F).

I'd figure that a college of that size would implement a computer program to do that.

While decisions were being made a file was edited with a list of ID's, accepted/rejected/ aid and what not.

First the computer went through and changed all of the pages, then went through and posted decisions, then went through and allowed access.

And if they aren't using a computer program hell, I should write them one, make myself a pretty penny

im sooooooooo nervous!!!!

oh yeah I have a sort of random question...does anyone know if BU is about as competitive as Brandeis or less so? I'm j/w because I got waitlisted at 'Deis. Thanks! :D

Andy, in general Brandeis is more competitive (specifica majors may be more or less). If you were waitlisted at Brandeis, BU will be a good match for you.
