@NJhockeydad and @sberman16 do you mind sharing what major/school you were deferred from? Does that mean you wait until after EA for a final decision?
I just checked again and I was flat out rejected with a 3.5 and a 30.
Did anyone else get a rejection?
@mules86 he applied to Fisher School of Business. The portal said he was deferred and would hear back in late March. No way he will wait until then as he has some other options he is happy with. I will say Ohio State has come a long way if they are turning away kids with 30 and 3.5 plus. Best of luck to all.
Deferred as well. OSU just wasn’t meant to be for me. From what I’ve seen its truly “the luck of the draw.”
As hard is it must be for those who got deferred or rejected rather than accepted, I appreciate that you are posting your decision here.
Accepted, submitted app around 10/26
OOS
ACT: 27
UW GPA: 3.8
Good luck everyone:)
Accepted, in-state applicant.
29 ACT
3.77 UW GPA
3.87 Weighted GPA
19/174 rank
2 APs
Edit: I applied for Environmental & Natural Resources
@mules86 I applied for the Biology major. Although I understand that my GPA was a bit low, I felt that I did well enough on my ACT. I have hundreds of hours of volunteering/shadowing and also play an instrument outside of school.
I agree with @NJhockeydad. I most likely will make a decision before I hear back from OSU in March.
Accepted! 3.6 UW GPA and 32 ACT, in state also. I applied as an intentional business major and it says I’m accepted for that major on the portal page…does that mean I’m admitted Fisher school of business?
Congratulations to those who also got in, and to those who didn’t don’t sweat it; you’ll end up where you’re meant to be!
My D hasn’t heard yet, 3.69 GPA and 33 ACT, in state. Hope to hear soon. Is it just every 2 weeks?
I have not heard back yet either… Ohio resident, 4.0 UW GPA, 31 ACT. Applied on the deadline, hopefully it won’t take too long. The wait is so frustrating!
Admitted. In-state student.
35 ACT 1550 SAT (CR/Math) GPA is ~4.3
8 APs taken, 3 more this year, and am taking ~7 (they’re difficult, one is honors) classes this year at OSU for PSEOP.
A pretty prestigious national award as well as pretty strong ECs in music, etc. Some research experience.
First-gen as well.
Good luck to those who haven’t gotten their results yet and I look forward to meeting the rest of you!
Rejected In State male
3.8 GPA
28 ACT
2 Year Academic Letter winner- NHS - Varsity Athlete…
Pretty Surprised
Curious why I wasn’t “eligible” for Columbus Campus. Has anyone ever called to determine why they were rejected? I could see being deferred…
My friend was accepted yesterday.
Out of state:
SAT 1260 (CR+M)
3.6+ UW GPA
From state governor’s school
7+ AP classes
Strong EC’s w/ leaderships + research
Daughter was admitted to School of Environment and Natural Resources yesterday!
Applied 10/31
GPA 3.85
4 APs Senior year
ACT 32
Top 21% class (apparently, this is a big one for OSU)
GO BUCKS!
So I was looking over my common app again and noticed that when I was filling out details about my siblings’ education levels, I accidentally put my sister as only graduating high school, when she is actually in community college right now. (I wasn’t sure if she would be considered having “some college/university”, although she hasn’t completed an actual year of college yet?) This wasn’t intentional but I’m wondering if I should contact Ohio State and let them know about this mistake?
Edit: would this affect my acceptance?
Although its a small sample size, it seems that the class percentage is a big thing. My sons GPA which could put him in the top 10 % at some schools it in the 30th percentile in his school. He would have loved to consider Ohio St but I guess he is fortunate to have other great opportunities also. Best of luck to all that have not heard yet.
A classmate of mine was admitted yesterday.
His application was completed on October 26th
