Son applied via Common Application on September 11 and his tracker just changed from Evaluation to Admitted today as a history major to the College of Arts and Sciences. DS is a Texas resident.

Objective:
GPA: 3.7 (weighted)
SAT: 2070
ACT: 32
SAT US History Subject Test: 740

Three AP Scores: AP World History 5, AP US History 5, AP Human Geography 5

Senior Year AP Schedule

  1. AP Stats
  2. AP Env. Science
  3. AP Macroeconomics
  4. AP U.S. Govt & Politics
  5. AP Psychology
  6. AP Eng. Literature

Extensive extracurriculars which were related to his preferred major (history). His common app essay was excellent.

@slg333, our kids have some of the same schools on their college wish list: Texas, Ohio State, Tulane, Wisconsin and Georgia. My son was admitted to UT on Tuesday, Tulane on Wednesday and Ohio State today. My son’s counselor has fumbled the counselor report for Georgia so our app there is still incomplete. We did not expect to get the UT-Austin admission this early because of how Texas process applications for in-state applicants, having that uncertainty removed might provide some clarification going forward for us.

Got in. Accepted to engineering program.

@fatherof2boys You also had a very exciting week and so many good choices - congratulations. My son has not heard back from Tulane yet. It is ironic that he was accepted to OSU this afternoon since he was preparing to leave for Columbus an hour alter to attend the OSU game and festivities tomorrow. Doesn’t get better than that! I would like to be him this week!

Accepted into College of Engineering.
International Student.
Applied Mid October.

Accepted for Public Health
Application was complete on 10/15.
OOS (CA), 3.4 UW GPA w/ ~10 AP/Honors courses.
1450 CR+M, 2160 composite SAT.

Schools I also applied to-
Minnesota (accepted, waiting on scholarships but it is my first choice)
Tulane (application hasn’t been reviewed yet, assuming rejected)
Miami University
Southern Methodist
Stony Brook

Kinda surprised because I had a rocky transcript, but holy cow! Congrats to everyone else who heard & best of luck to those waiting <3

I’m happy I’ve gotten into Ohio State, Loyola University Chicago, and Colorado State so far, but Northwestern and Georgia Tech is scaring me. Gonna have some tough decisions to make…

@slg333, that trip to Columbus is really going to be special for your son. Seems like OSU might have the inside track on his college decision based on that trip. Good luck with upcoming Wisconsin notification date, hopefully we’ll get to congratulate each other sons on that forum in a couple of weeks or so.

wtf no admittance 1550 SAT 35 ACT pls osu
exploration program btw

@freezycool I doubt you’ll get rejected from Tulane. They rarely reject anyone in the EA round and just defer them to RD.
