Ok I’ll make a non-t/r/o/l/l post in this thread. My adviser for OSU Academy told me that the next batch would be in a few weeks or so. This was told to me on Friday.

Okay, I’ll admit it makes me a little uneasy that I don’t have a decision yet, especially seeing someone of the people here who were rejected despite great stats. I’m in-state, ranked 1/200, NMSF, 4.15 W, 35 ACT, sort of lackluster ECs but decent enough…hopefully I’ll get in during the next round of decisions.
It seems to me that almost everyone who has heard back is out-of-state. It is possible that they were evaluated first – OSU has said explicitly that their goal is to increase the out-of-state freshmen from current 30% to 35% (this includes international students). They also have said that they want to increase the number of minority, first generation, and Pell grant awardees – in-state students who have heard back might from this category.
RedandBlack: there is no way someone of your Stats isn’t getting into Ohio State (unless you said Go Blue in your essay!).
@osuprof - I am in state and my status changed from Evaluation to Admitted for OSU on Friday 11/20/15. I applied very early in the process for Engineering. Go Bucks !!
I haven’t seen any rejections noted here other than one that I assume was a joke/t.r.o.l.l.i.n.g post.
@adlgel People who get rejected aren’t exactly rushing to tell everyone
@Snowybuny I know, that was a reference to an earlier post from @redandblack who noted that they were worried about their own stats compared to the stats of those who were rejected and I was pointing out that no one has really commented on this thread that they were rejected.
I’m viewing my son’s acceptance as a rejection…as I posted above, he’s OOS, 35C (including 36M), 3.6u, 4.0w, bad class rank (37%) but really good computer science experience and ECs, 11 AP classes, 4.7 gpa junior year, applied late August to COE for CS, was accepted only for “exploration” in tech. So, they turned down a 35 ACT from college of engineering. …OSU is officially off his list!
Admitted.
Applied 10/28.

@s16s18s21s25 are you sure that wasn’t like a mistake in classification? Those stats are outstanding, you should email or call them to clarify that.
Just got the email
Accepted: Exploration (unsure of major choice)
OOS: PA
GPA: 3.7
ACT: 29
All honors and 8APs
Applied October 26th
So excited. Now just hoping for the National Buckeye
@s16s18s21s25 You do realize that his essays could have played a part or his class ranking or gpa, right? The ACT score is not the only thing that matters here.
I was accepted into the College of Arts and Sciences! Does anyone know when we will find out about the Honors Program?
Also, when do we find out if we have received a scholarship?
Daughter accepted - Notified via email yesterday
Applied early October
OOS - NJ

I’ve checked it three times…although I thought S wasn’t being realistic about some of his long shots I thought OSU was near a safety. Class rank and GPA must have been what killed him. This is a kid who has programmed games in Lua played by more than 2 millions users, all in his essay. I dont get it but it makes me worry that schools like UIUC are a pipedream.
