Admissions Decisions Class of 2021

@asberna OSU territory manager link http://hscounselors.osu.edu/territory.html

@trackmbe3 I disagree about applicant interest not being a factor. My son met with his state admissions representative at his high school, had his hs college counselor let the admissions rep know OSU was his first choice (we are OOS) and also emailed with his OSU admissions territory manager. My son also stayed in contact and expressed interest in the other schools he applied for. He was accepted first round at each school even with a lower GPA (GPA 3.5 weighted, ACT 31). “Among the main goals for any college admission staff is to have a high yield rate — meaning a high percentage of accepted students actually choose to enroll at the university. A high admission yield rate is an indication that a school is more desirable compared to other colleges of a similar caliber.” Yield matters and admissions counselors like demonstrated interest.

Thank you @crazyboymom! I saw that list, but we weren’t sure if that was actually who would be looking at the applications?

Trying to check the app status and I keep getting a message that says "This is not a valid time to access the system. " Is anyone else getting that - its an Oracle page. I am going to appstatus.osu.edu - thanks for any help

Does anyone know when you will receive more details and scholarship info, more than just the one word “admitted” in your student portal?

@penguin17 A day or two after I was admitted there was an accept/decline option but thats it. Everything else comes by letter within a few days to a week.

Question - on the application page under ‘Education and Testing’…anyone know what RDTS stands for in relation to the SAT (I’m sure it’s something I’m not thinking of…)?

TEST ID / Test Component
SAT / MTHSN
SAT / RDTS ??
SAT / RWRSN
SAT / SATTL

I know this has somewhat been addressed, but has anyone who is admitted heard about merit scholarships (specifically National Buckeye) yet? I was admitted first wave and have not heard anything yet, wondering if others are in the same boat.

@carolineg

on the Buckeyelink, i saw a link for Special Scholarships Application under the purple header / banner at the top. perhaps you have to fill that out? or is National Buckeye automatic?
