Dreamed you are already a student at OSU right? I thought I saw your name on earlier posts concerning Ohio State and the Morrill?
Had everything turned in at the beginning of the month, praying I hear back within the first few rounds of admits as OSU is my number 1! GO BUCKS!
@artsyg - That is correct. I am a freshman at OSU. Glad to answer any questions for current applicants, based on my experience.
@adlgel it seems like you know what’s up. I would love to go to OSU but I’m really wanting that national buckeye scholarship. Any chance you could let me know real quick if you think I will get it.
I applied like a month ago too. Anyone else’s input would also be helpful!

Class rank 167/750 (23.90%)
top 5 school in GA
I would say my ECs are a 10/10 as well
Oh and I live in Georgia
@dreamed thanks so much for the help with questions, it is appreciated!
If you meet all the criteria and you apply by Nov 1 you’ve done all you can do. Beyond that it’s really difficult for anyone to predict whether you will or will not get it.
My status changed to under evaluation and I’m really hoping I get a decision the week before Thanksgiving. The wait to finding out the decision is horrible especially when OSU is my #1 choice
Do they say in your acceptance letter if you have been awarded the National Buckeye? Or would that come later?
@mkat12 I’m almost positive it comes later
Scholarship info definitely comes out later than acceptance info. For my son it was about a week later but others waited much longer.
@mkat12 - scholarship decisions will come out sometime between Jan/ Feb through March, for any instate scholarship or out of state scholarship
Last year my son received his acceptance letter on December 6th and his scholarship notice on December 17th.
Scholarship info can come out earlier than January - my son heard December 19th last year.
My status said evaluation and now says applicant. I hope i did not ruin my chances to hear back quickly.
@soyunchico Your app said Applicant then Evaluation, then Applicant again?
Did you change something? Very strange.
@STEM2017 yeah I changed major(so stupid I know). It said evaluation almost immediately after I originally submitted. I changed major a few weeks ago and it still says applicant.
You’ll be fine.
Do the dates for admission acceptance vary from year to year, or can you hear anytime after Nov 1 for early action
The dates have been very consistent in the past few years - first decisions released on the Friday before Thanksgiving and then coming out in waves on subsequent Fridays (second wave might be two weeks after first) and then eventually the waved releases stop and decisions are just released whenever.
Who gets decisions in the first wave? High stats? URM? Less competitive majors?
