@Banker1 I don’t think OSU has direct entry nursing. My son got admitted to Pre-Nursing. All Pre-nursing majors apply their freshman year for the Nursing Program.
Hi @noggys thanks for the response. A couple of us were discussing it earlier in this thread (Post #453).
I just looked up the OSU website link here. And came across the below information. My D also applied for Honors college believing that also to be a requirement.
Students Applying Directly from High School:
Senior-level high school students may apply directly to the College of Nursing BSN program for Autumn 2018 admission. The following items must be complete in order to be considered for admission to the BSN program:
Students must apply concurrently to:
The Ohio State University - through the Undergraduate Admissions website (by February 1, 2018)
Applicant must be accepted to The Ohio State University Columbus Campus only.
The College of Nursing BSN program - through the Professional Admissions website (by January 15, 2018)
Completion of all prerequisite courses by the end of the 2018 Spring Semester with a C+ or better.*
Minimum GPA of a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale on overall collegiate academic courses.
Completion of 30 semester credit hours of college coursework (25 of which are prerequisite courses) by the end of the 2018 Spring Semester.
*Students taking prerequisite courses at institutions that do not award grades on a +/- scale must earn a grade of “B” or higher in each of the prerequisite courses in order to be eligible for admission.
Those class ranks are top 25 and 10 PERCENTILE (at a highly ranked school), not true rank.
Anyone receive merit scholarship decisions in the mail yet?
My S received a merit award letter today @A1A1A1
Thank you…I’ll go check the mailbox!
@gclsports congrats to your son!
Can you share which merit award he received (Morrill, National Buckeye, Maximus, Provost, Trustee), when he was accepted and what state you’re in to help the rest of us waiting? Thank you!
Son received Provost scholarship notice today in the mail. Applied 10/29, accepted in 12/15 wave. We are in-state.
Provost. Applied 10/9. Accepted the Friday before Thanksgiving. In State.
Congrats to your son @osumom28!
For #1, My older son (Freshman) got his first choice and his friend got his 2nd choice. Some are more competitive than others. I agree that it gives them an academic group of friends right off the bat. Good Luck!
I applied Oct 28th, was accepted as biology major 12/15 and received Morrill scholarship 1/5. OOS Wisconsin
Hi…my daughter was accepted in the first wave but we haven’t received anything about merit yet. Just curious whether merit shows up on your Buckeye account. Thx
My daughter just received an invitation for an interview for the Biomedical science major! It is super competitive! She hasn’t even gotten her OSU acceptance yet,LOL! We are so excited, I guess I have to buy airline tickets…
Daughter was accepted 12/15 and just today received letter in mail notifying her she was awarded both Maximus Provost scholarships! We’re very excited! OSU was not at the top of her list but this has gotten her attention and we’ll have to make a trip to Columbus since she has never visited. As point of reference she applied bio major, 1450 SAT and OOS (New Jersey). This may move OSU ahead of Pitt and Tulane (Pitt offered no money and Tulane offered some, but still costs $50K/year. While money isn’t the only consideration, I feel these schools are all at the same level academically so affordability becomes a big factor.
My son (also accepted on 12/15) was notified today (1/8) via regular mail that he received the Maximus scholarship ($4K/year for 4 years). I didn’t think they combined merit based?. Anyway - congrats !
@kiwi3466 congrats. Mind posting stats?
@Stinamom I also received an invitation to interview. Best of luck to your daughter!
Will the last wave be this friday (1-12) or the next (1-19)? App status is still at “Applicant”
Same to you @dangkat5
