@Scubaski1 My son is a freshman at OSU and in Fisher, also Finance. Your son qualifies for direct admission. The criteria are having a 30 ACT composite score OR a 26+ ACT composite score AND ranking in the top 20% of his class. He will receive another letter shortly informing him that he has been accepted for admission to Fisher. It will come right from Fisher. Congrats!! If he isn’t doing Honors or Scholars he could consider the Global Business Learning Community. My son is in it and it is a great opportunity.
My son applied EA and called the admissions office this week because he was expecting an answer by “mid-January”. The gal who answered the phone said that he would hear “by the end of January.” That said, he did hear this evening that he was accepted:

@oreo32 most scholars programs are only 30-50 students. Only a floor or two of the residence halls.

@LUVSML… Congrats! Sounds like my son who just got accepted to OSU/business - he was also feeling “demoralized” after getting rejected from Wisconsin (and he’s a double legacy). He got into Indiana but did not get direct admit to Kelly Business school (after going through the appeals process). He also got into Michigan State and University of Colorado, and is waiting to hear from Penn State and Miami Ohio. But OSU is now his #1 choice.
OSU is the only school he applied to that he hasn’t visited. It was a last minute decision to apply (he didn’t even do the optional essay), but he is SO glad he did apply.
He has been researching Fisher business programs all morning, and the school sounds like such a great fit for him. The programs (finance/accounting) are ranked so highly. He is so happy. We are going to visit ASAP. Super thankful for The Ohio State today. Go Buckeyes!
Was he just accept now or last night? We are still waiting and we are very upset we thought we would have heard by last night.
@Scubaski1 - congrats to your son! It is so tough these days! My son is also still waiting to hear from Penn State and University of Maryland (early action) and Virginia Tech after the deferral and Univ. of Virginia (my alma mater - but very long shot for him to get accepted there 
@Long Island Ivy Mother 1 - I called the admissions office this past Wednesday and was told by a woman in the office that the final EA decisions could be as late as Friday, January 26. She said they say mid-January on their site because they don’t know how many applications they will get. She said they received 4 percent more EA applications this year. I would call the admissions office on Monday to see if you get the same info. Good luck!
@Scubaski1 Congratulations! My son also got admitted to Fisher as a Business Major, and we are planning to go back to visit for the Fisher Info session and Buckeye Bound. OSU is tied for top choice for my son right now, but I’m hoping this visit tips the scales a bit.
@longislandivymother1… Last night at around 7:30 PM his OSU portal changed to “Accepted/Fisher Business Finance”
One of his friends also got accepted last night but his portal changed to “Accepted/General,” although he had applied as a business major, so assuming that means his friend did not get direct admit to Fisher.
Some background FWIW-
My son applied early 10/30. ACT composite is 31, Weighted GPA is a tad under 3.7 (I think 3.69) out of 4.0 - somewhat low though he has taken mostly honors/AP courses, incl. AP Calc, AP Physics, 4 years AP history incl AP Econ, 2 years AP Engl, 4 years of French, 4 years pre-engineering PLTW (which has taught him he does not want to be an engineer).
He played 3 HS sports (co-captain of lacrosse), 4 years of Int’l summer mission trips, presidential volunteer award, caddy for 5 years (promoted to senior honors caddy), summer job at an engineering co., started a neighborhood business, HS clubs: Investment/Stock Club, Business Leaders Club, Spirit Club, nominated by peers to lead school anti-bullying campaign/organization.
He did not write an optional essay for OSU.

Applied 10/31 EA and still have not heard. Status Evaluation. Has anyone heard today (Saturday) or were these all received on 1/19? Hoping I don’t have to wait until next Friday.
