@bucks724 I applied and finished my fafsa by 10/31 and I am still waiting for a notification. It has been on evaluation forever…
My daughter was also deferred in last round. I think that was not so nice to make them all wait and defer these kids at the end of EA.
Hi I was accepted out of state on 1/19. I was wondering when I would be notified if I was awarded a scholarship such as the Buckeye National. Does anyone know? Thanks
@collegekid352 we’re in the same situation. The mailed acceptance letter didn’t offer any details about scholarships or honors or even anything about major. From reading through these posts it seems folks are notified of any merit about 2-3 weeks after receiving their acceptance.
I applied early action (11/1)… I know I applied on the actual day of the deadline but I did not miss it, probably why it’s takig so long to get a decision. 1/30 and still haven’t received any notice… application is still in “evaluation” . Anyone on the same boat?
@Banker1 @collegekid352, My son, was accepted on 11/17 and we still haven’t received any information about scholarships. Admissions told me that we would know the scholarship decision by the end of February.
Honors and Scholars information I believe are coming through the university’s email system.
Click on “what to do now” for instructions to set up Buckeyemail at this link http://undergrad.osu.edu/apply/freshmen-columbus/after-you-are-admitted
“From now on, important and time-sensitive business communications from Ohio State – like your Acceptance Fee Statement, financial aid offer and housing contract – will be sent to your BuckeyeMail account. Set up BuckeyeMail even if you haven’t decided on Ohio State.”
Again “even if you haven’t decided on Ohio State” you should be setting this up.
@Squinty my daughter is in the same boat. she applied on 10/31 and her portal is still showing Evaluation. it’s not her top choice otherwise i would have called OSU already but she would still like to know her options.
@Squinty @IDtoTX I also applied 11/1 and my portal still says evaluation. I emailed OSU and they told me I applied too late for Early Action, which is false because they told me in November in a separate email that I was being considered for Early Action and I was good to go. I called OSU yesterday and spoke with an Admissions counselor who double checked my file and saw that I had everything turned in on time so she said she filed an exception form and my application will still be out through Early Action. I still have to wait a few weeks for an admissions decision but scholarship consideration and everything else is still the same as a regulars EA applicant. I suggest calling them to clear everything up.
@bvives8 thank you for that information. I will check with my daughter when she gets home to see if she has that same early action email.
I also got deferred on the 26th
1310/1600
3.6/4 GPA
IB Diploma candidate
Bunch of ECs
Decent essay and LORs
Major: Finance
International
I later got an email asking me to choose another major at a different college. I guess it means that I am not qualified at all for Fisher.
Did anyone else get this email ? I found it extremely weird
Read through drop down info. for “International Freshmen” about direct admission at https://fisher.osu.edu/undergraduate/admissions/future-students
and see if any of this applies to you
@IDtoTX It’s worth noting that I didn’t receive that email automatically- I got the email notifying me that I was being considered for EA because I directly emailed OSU asking if I was being considered. It’s worth it to call the Admissions Office for your daughter though, they’re very helpful.
“Honors and Scholars information I believe are coming through the university’s email system.”
D has not checked the university’s email system, but she received an email today at her Common App email address that she was accepted into the Honors College.
i was accepted in the december round, still have not heard anything about honors or scholarships, has anyone heard about trustees? is it worth contacting admissions ??
@kem978 there is a whole string on the scholarships and honors with all of the details on timing.
@kem978 I called Admissions about a week ago. You should have scholarship information by the end of February. We are patiently waiting too.
I still haven’t heard back from OSU at all. I know that I did early action because I got an email saying that I was going to get evaluated early. Does anyone know when the last round is?
I’d call and ask about your applications/scholarships/programs.
One of my friends called and learned that they were accepted into the Scholars program a while ago. For some reason, he (and others at my school) just didn’t get the email. He got in first round, for context. I also got in on the first round and received the email about Honors acceptance mid-January or so, I believe.
One of my other friends, however, was moved to Regular Decision despite applying before the Early Action deadline and even calling to confirm that she made the deadline soon after.
To those of you who said you called to ask about honors/scholars who did you call the admissions or someone else?
