I know that some people get acceptance letters as soon as Late November. How common is this? Is it a matter of how soon you applied or how good your stats are? Is it only reserved for people that have really really amazing applications?
I applied in Early September (September 1st or 2nd). I am currently expecting to get the decision by the date that is on the website (Mid- February). I just want to know if there is any way I might find out before then.
My son applied last year the first week of August and was accepted the first week of November. He received an out of state merit scholarship. His scores were 4.3 GPA, 28 ACT lots of extra activities / community service. Hope this helps. He loves it at Clemson. Best choice for him. Good luck
I believe early admission decisions are primarily provided to students being offered significant merit scholarships. My son applied last year in August and received his admission letter in early November. He received the largest out-of-state merit scholarship.
So they get to consider and accept people for rolling and early admissions but we can’t apply for early or rolling admissions? AND most have to wait until 2/15 while we watch people post their acceptances and feel anxious? That seems unfair. I feel like if I don’t know by now I’m not a top candidate for them and likely won’t get merit even if I do get in. I will be looking hard elsewhere. They should know we all see them liking Instagram photos of acceptance letters and it is very disheartening for the people who believed their hard and firm 2/15 notification advertised everywhere even in their common data set. I guess that’s only for the average applicant. They get the advantage of early action pool without the regard for the early applicants. Boo!
I agree with you @maeve123 . It is so difficult for me to know that all of these people have been accepted but not me. I am incredibly happy for all of them, but I wish that I was one of them. It does mess with my confidence a little. I am not concerned about getting in, but I submitted my application in August and have waited over 2 months only to be deemed what seems to be a “second rate candidate”. I am not concerned about getting in, but it would be really really nice if I could have it in my hand.
On the other hand, I am sure that they have only sent out one batch of acceptances. I am confident that I will hear in the next month or so. The wait is just very difficult.
@thatpreppygirl I submitted in August, too, and even got an email saying mine was under review but missing something (that I then submitted). And then nothing. Hang in there and keep me posted. I wish you luck!
Ps I’m happy for all, too. Sorry if I took away from that!
