I was just wondering when those who applied regular decision will hear back. Despite my best efforts to coerce my parents into letting me apply early decision they refused to sign the contract. I sent my application in very early; I believe it was the second day it came out which was way before the early decision deadline. While College Board says a decision will not be made until March, is there any chance we can receive a letter before that? I know the university doesn’t operate on a rolling basis but the waiting is truly tortuous. Input from anyone who applied last year or in earlier years would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know when to start hearing back from Syracuse. Im in the same boat as you it is pure torture waiting and i just sent my App in Dec. 3rd!!!! I hope it will be soon because waiting for my number one choice is killing me!!!

Redandgold the wait does suck. I just called the admissions office today and they said despite how early you submitted your application you won't get your decision a day before March. Looks like will just have to wait it out. I was wondering if anyone knows whether the acceptance letter is in a packet or in a small envelope? Good luck red, hope we both get in.

it's not rolling admissions, so everyone will hear in March, unless you're ED. No sooner, no later.

I think RD decisions come out around March 15.

maybe its because he is international, but i know that despite the rule about not hearing until march, my brother applied RD to SU last year and heard back by mid February at the latest

Knight03,
My daughter applied to Syracuse RD last year. Since she saved all her college acceptances, I looked at the letter and saw it was dated March 13. It came in a 9X12 packet along with other information about the school. Good luck to you.

agreed...last year, (letter dated March 13th); email arrived on March 14th (6:00pm).....yea, I remember.....it was my D's 18th b'day......

BTW, it was a Friday last year, so I would expect a date of March 13th for this year.

Thank you both very much. While March is still very far away, knowing a concrete date is a bit relaxing.

I'm so nervous. Syracuse is in my list of top schools (my others are Purdue, CU-Boulder and Hofstra [Mainly because I love NY].) I've gotten into all my tops except Syracuse (I'm a RD kid and the wait is going to kill me. D=).

I believe the wait is killing everyone!! The hardest part about applying to college is the process of waiting. I find myself constantly checking statistics and forums such as this one. All we can do is wait it out and hope that March comes faster than the month of January has gone.

haha yeah knight ive been doing the EXACT SAME THING

Just letting everyone know that although it is not rolling admission, not everyone would be receiving their admission decision the same time. All the decisions would be out on different days in March. Some will hear later in the month than others.
