If you dont mind sharing, what were your stats? I’ve been on evaluation since October. My future loooks pretty bleak…

I think they are admitting the strong applicants first does not look good for me at all ! Been on evaluation for quite some time now !

Posted this a moment ago on a stale thread – didn’t notice it was dated 2008!

In-state student
Applied late November, “Admitted” status early December (why don’t they say “Accepted”? This is bothersome)
4.2 GPA, weighted (HS does not rank)
34 ACT
1550/2280 SAT
SAT IIs: Lit 760; Latin 750; MathII 720
Public, strong academic high school (11% of Sr. class National Merit Recognized)
ECs: strong in Music/Band, EC academic work, Classics ECs; a little service work

Hoping to hear from Honors College soon. Hoping for a good package…

sure…my stats were…

35 ACT
4.0 UW GPA, 4.5 W
4/486 rank

tebowforheisman, what major you got?

Haven’t seen any admissions in awhile? Still waiting on my son’s—Has anyone been accepted this week and/or does anyone know if the admission office is working this week since finals ended last week?

Nope they told me I would here by christmas, so Im getting a little worried. It has been 12 weeks since Ive applied so I called the lady did not sound too happy.

I had a friend get accepted on Monday. He only applied a month ago. It upsets me, cause I completed my application in the beginning of October. My application has been in evaluation for 10 weeks, and the person I talked to said that it usually takes 8-12 weeks to accept/deny an application. I just need to be more patient…

to gpp2010: I applied communications. journalism specifically

and yes ohiopublic, I got accepted Monday. So there have been at least a few acceptances this week.

I know of 2 people who were accepted this week. One had a ACT of 30 - and the other 28 ACT - I don’t know the other stats, but both were very active in school. My daughter is still under evaluation, She has a 24 ACT, 3.7 GPA, 4 year Varsity Captain in soccer, all kinds of leadership groups and a/p courses. So, I’m sure she’s one of those average on the “bubble” kids that apply.

Son (ok maybe me) is anxious that he hasn’t heard yet. He had information in late November and has a 3.9 and 28 ACT/SAT 1250. The stats seem somewhat above the median of last year’s class?

My daughter is in a similiar situation as system901’s daughter. She has a 26 ACT, applied in August and had all materials turned in by early September. Still shown as “Evaluation”. Hopefully, they’ll start notification of the median kids soon.

my D had all her materials in by August. She thought getting it in early would be beneficial for her in her situation. She had a strong letter of recommendation for what its worth. We shall see. Its been well over the 12 weeks.

System901 - That’s what I did, and I’m still in evaluation also. I’m also in the median range…I bet we’ll both know our fates soon. I hope…

A couple of days ago i posted a comment about a page on the osu website that indicated that my son had been issued an osu email (lastname.#@osu.edu)

the page is located at [OSU Campus Dining Services : Home](http://diningservices.osu.edu/)

when he clicks on the “influenza sick banner” it lists that he is logged on with an already issued osu email (above)----do any “admits” or “evaluations” have this? We’re hoping that this could be a sign that he has been admitted? Of course maybe everyone that applies is issued an osu email?

Just hoping…

Interesting…

When I click on that, I get an osu style email for my daughter, who is still in evaluation mode.

It’s interesting that it associated my pc with my daughter. I have a son that is a junior.

They must be doing something with cookies.

I find it hard to believe that they would create ids for everyone that applied, but there must be some criteria for them.

All we can do is to hope…

I think they were messing with the system yesterday because for awhile it didn’t even recognize DD’s log in info. Waited about 1/2 hour and then it did. They probably hold an Email address after app in case they need to assign it.

Did some digging…

http://oaa.osu.edu/irp/publisher_surveys/09ColumbusCDS.pdf

In 2008, about 21k people applied, about 12k were admitted, and about 6k enrolled.

Being in IT, and that email at OSU is outsourced to Microsoft, I find it really hard to believe that they created 21k mailboxes. Especially knowing that only about 25% will become students.

Continuing to be optimistic…

I tried the email thing too and it seems they issued me an email address. Interesting…

on another note, I recently received a 7K scholarship from Ohio U. My dad (born/raised in Columbus) seems to think this news makes admission to OSU more possible for me. Thoughts??

^my D got a letter about two days after her acceptance letter that she had an email set up, and she needed to activate it in order to receive communication in the future. From a procedural point of view, it makes sense to me that accepted students would be set up with email but not everyone. I am hoping for you!
