Admissions Decisions

Does anyone know how Brown announces its admissions decisions? Is it by email or is a page put up on their website? Or do they do it by regular mail??

I’m trying to put together a battle plan for April 1…

Did you get your Banner login details yet? On April 1st a button will appear on the application summary page in the “Status” cell. When you click that button, you’ll be taken to a page with your letter.

At least that’s how early decision worked…

For ED, did their site get really slow and/or crash?

Also, for accepted students, do you still see a letter or is there something different that’s put up? For Yale, for instance, the screen turns blue and a bulldog pops up (Yale’s mascot is a bulldog) and then a song plays, which makes it pretty obvious you got in. Anything of the sort for Brown?

umm for ED it was just a letter. and for ED it was only 3000 students, much less than 27000, but it didnt crash. i have no idea if that will happen for RD

On April 1st at 5 pm Eastern Time, go to the application status page. A button will appear on April 1st, but it will lead you to a “Decisions Not Available” page until 5:00 pm (No, not 4:59 pm :(). I checked my decision right at 5:00 pm and the site wasn’t slow at all. Although it might sound surprising, most people do NOT check their decisions right when they come out early decision on regular decision. Lots of people I know for example check all their RDs on the same day. Good luck!

^That page is terrifying.

Thanks for the responses everyone!

@rockermcr: Take it easy. There’s at least a month to go. Making a ‘battle plan’ now is only going to make you unnecessarily anxious.

^ You’re definitely right. I just keep thinking forward to that day, and, well… I can’t help myself. I’m already unnecessarily anxious.
