Just wondering, does anyone know when we are supposed to hear back for regular decision for georgetown??

April first!!!

thank you!

Actually it might be earlier because they’re ending their admissions committee this friday.

Do they also send out financial aid at the same time?

@An0nimity, where did you hear that? I’m not saying you’re wrong, just hoping you’re right.

@collegesgirl, no. The acceptances/rejections all come in business sized envelopes. That would lead me to believe that they contain an acceptance letter and a couple of pages about enrollment/deposits. They finaid stuff probably comes in a separate letter a few days later.

I’ve been in contact with one of the counselors because my transcript was missing and she told me that the admissions committee would be completing their review on March 19th. I even got an e-mail from her on saturday so I’m assuming they worked over the weekend?

Hmm… well, I guess that means they’ll be preparing the envelopes beginning of next week, so hopefully we’ll receive them late next week or Monday of that next week (29th). Still earlier than expected :D

so is this confirmed? most people will get decisions BEFORE April 1?

Georgetown wrote me: “We will email out our decision letters to all international students before April 1.” So Im pretty sure all decisions will be announced by that date, the latest.
@ thenatural: It IS confirmed:)

@ thenatural, on my EA deferral it said that all deferrees would be notified on or before April 1. Since they go by mail, I presume that they intended to send out decisions well before April 1, so that no one would be disappointed by not getting a letter by April 1.

those deferred wat did u do to bolster up ur app?

this is so exciting!!!

I was deferred and I sent in a resume (i had not sent one in before), as well as a letter, and an additional essay

Good luck! I’m pretty sure most people didn’t do those (very necessary) steps (those who were deferred that is)

I was told to not send extra stuff like essays when deferred, unless asked to, because it makes an applicant look desperate.

^It’s a double sided coin. You’d want to demonstrate interest without seeming desperate. A LOCI (letter of continued interest) is appropriate but save the brownnosing.

does anyone know how international students get notified?

By email if you don’t have an address in the US. I had the same question until I found the answer tucked away on their site.

thanks srrinath
