How do admissions generally work between CoE and LSA? Any major differences?
I know that they're roughly equally selective (37% coe, 38% lsa), and obviously engineering is more math/physics oriented, and lsa is more general.

What i'm asking is:
Where are ec's more weighted?
Which is likelier to admit a low gpa/high sat score and the opposite?
etc.

Any other major admissions differences?

I don’t think anyone can really tell you if there’s a methodological difference between CoE admissions and LSA admissions unless they actually work in the admissions department. The main difference is that for CoE your math ACT/SAT score and Math/Science grades will be weighed more heavily than the rest of your test scores and grades, while in LSA everything is roughly equally considered.

I would guess they care more about your essays in LSA. I pretty much copied and pasted mine for multiple apps and it didn’t seem to matter. But then again I guess I would never know.

Oh, and you could probably throw in being a female mastering more in CoE while being a make might help you in some LSA majors… Not sure though

Sorry about the typos. I’d edit them but I don’t think I can from the mobile site.

You need a high GPA and high test score to get in to either. They have enough students applying strong in both that they don’t need to admit students who aren’t. You need strong math scores and extracurrics for engineering that show your interest (FIRST Robotics, etc).
