I am narrowing down my choices for grad school, and am looking for guidance beyond my professors. My main interests are in biochemistry and geochemistry and I will be applying to departments that have research groups that align with me. I did poorly on the GRE and think that some of my choices may be out of reach.

I am graduating in December in chemistry at the U of Utah with about a 3.8 GPA and 1.5 years research experience in physical biology centered on protein crystallography and kinteics.
My Gre verbal was a whopping 440 and quantitative was 700. I think I should do alright on the analytical though. Didn't take the chem subject test.

The schools I like with programs and faculty research that really interest me are:

UBC vancouver biochemistry

Stanford geobiology

UCSB geology

ETH Zurich chemistry

MIT geobiology

UCLA biochemistry

UCSD oceanography

MSU Bozeman as a safety school

Any ideas/thoughts or criticism?
