Really Appreciate that OSU could give me offer, I was denied by many schools like Fordham and Villanova’s Business school, and deferred by Boston University and CWRU. I thought I could not receive any offer from the United States, but really appreciate OSU gives me an opportunity!!

Yeah!! Very frustrating. IS. Biology pre-med. applied the end of August. Early decision early acceptance and still nothing All her friends heard back today or prior so very very hard on her up to the point. :frowning:

@equationlover - seems like more people than you know were pulling for you. So happy to see this post. Congratulations!

Well…looks like I’ll have to wait until next week. Really losing hope here. I know many people get deferred on the last round and I was just wondering if my late decision has anything to do with me applying for the Scholars program and the Morrill scholarship? Or is it really just random and I happen to simply be unlucky? I applied Sept. 30th

Evaluation.

At this point it would be nice if they released decisions as they made decisions.

I have become very turned off by OSU through this admission process. I am an alum and my spouse is an alum, our oldest is a student at OSU and our 2nd applied EA in September. Still in “evaluation” Considered to have average stats, 4.0gpa, top 15%, 29 ACT and good ECs It would be ideal for them to both be on the same campus for so many reasons. At this point, I’m expecting a deferral and a long February and March. I’m almost to the point where I am going to recommend excepting a second choice. U of Miami and UC both have sent acceptances. They gave decisions on a specific date. No anxiety over not knowing what is going on in the process. I realize OSU is among the largest in the nation, but the process needs to be improved. If there truly is a rhyme or reason to who finds out when, then be transparent in the process. If this truly is random, then release the decisions as they are made and do away with the “waves”.

Evaluation here, as well. Application date 9/25/18. Very difficult given that we were certain there would be a decision last night. I’m not sure I understand why there’s not at least a simple post on their Admissions page re: the plan to wrap up all the Early Action outstanding applications. It seems to me it might alleviate the inevitable phone calls to the admissions office this week. Another consideration is Monday is a holiday…so a four day work week, most likely.

So is this wave over already? And the next wave will be next Friday?

@bucks724 Thanks so much! Everyone’s support has been awesome. I’m not 100% sure I’ll be able to attend because of financial reasons (I really want tOSU to pull though, though!!!) So I hope I can attend, it is currently my top choice.

Everyone! Don’t give up yet! They’ll for sure have decisions out by next week!!! I checked this thread religiously every month almost all day when decisions were coming out. You’ll be okay!!!

My son admitted - OOS - 35 ACT, 3.87 W GPA, Engineering

Congratulations to all that have been admitted so far. Really frustrating system. Son was admitted in the first wave. My poor daughter with much higher stats is still in evaluation. The least admissions can do is inform students their plan of releasing decisions so they don’t stare at the screen for hours in anticipation since decisions are released randomly over a 12 hour time period on what has now been 3 release dates. Illinois does it right. They tell you when you apply you will receive a decision on a specific date and ALL students receive a decision on that day at the SAME TIME. My daughter is slowly losing interest in OSU and has just booked a flight to visit her second choice school which may now become her first choice school bumping OSU out.

Still in evaluation status. Son spent the morning with us planning our A&M (Eng.) trip. A&M is his #2 but his interest level has never been higher. The wife and I are Former Students, OSU is really helping us out here. Yes, looking for a silver lining

@equationlover I’ve watched your name pop up every couple pages ?? and I know you’ve been anxiously awaiting, so I’ve been rooting for you as much as I have my own kid lol. I’m so glad you got your decision last night and am extremely happy to see that you got in!! All the best to you! ?? #GoBucks #ClassOf2023

@TayMarie don’t lose hope! Remember, we were promised a decision by the end of Jan, which is quickly approaching. So you will have a decision very soon. We were discouraged too not knowing anything (and just found out last night), but not having a decision yet is no indication of whether you were admitted. We also applied for Scholars and the Morrill scholarship. I honestly think it’s just the luck of the draw. You appear to be a very strong applicant. I’m sure you’ll get into Main campus. I’m pulling for you and will continue checking in!!

Anecdotal but my D just talked to girl who last year applied early decision and didn’t find out until second week in Feb!! I. Don’t. Get. It. And they have so many applicants I am sure they’re not motivated to keep students interested.

Has anyone been admitted as a (pre) Data Analytics Major? Applied on August 1. Still waiting.

@OSU1stChoice Thank you so much for the motivation haha I’ll stick through this nail-biting process positively and hope for the best!

I have become very disappointed in the way my beloved alma mater handles the acceptance process. They are placing undo stress by the supposed randomness of the way they roll out the responses in ‘waves’. I wish they would be more transparent and less vague. I realize they are dealing with a huge number of apps, but my son applied in early September and still in “Evaluation”. It’s tough to hear those complaining about waiting since Nov. 1st and then say, OSU is my 3rd choice! Try waiting almost 5 months and still nothing, more than likely we will be deferred and have to wait another 2 months. Am I crazy, but waiting from Sept 1st to potentially March 30th is an excessive amount of time. Seriously, 7 months!! OSU is his #1 and only choice! He has stats that are right in line with those posted as accepted.

@collegedadto3
What are the differences in their apps? Honors and Scholars? Date submitted? Majors? Are we supposed to believe it’s totally random that one of your kids has a decision and one is still waiting? I have such a hard time believing that apps are opened randomly!!
