I am going to be entering my Senior year this fall and will be sending out college applications around the same time. Since it's summer, I'd really like to get start early and have lots of time to work on my essays and personal statement (particularly for UCs, but a few others as well) but I see on their websites that they have not yet released the revised or official questions for my class.

How is it that some people here are already beginning their essays and is there any way I can find any of the correct prompts to get started? Thanks in advance.

Many schools use the common application and it appears that the five essay prompts it uses are the same for 2012. It’s likely that many of those applicants that have a head start on their essays are using the common application essay prompts. Here is a link to the site:

https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/Default.aspx

Go to the “downloadable forms” area and you can see the essay prompts for last year (same as this year) without having to register.

some people have started working on essays already because of different dates when different colleges release this info. Wait for it, it should come out soon.
