Hi,

Would one have higher chances of admission if applying for the Fall semester or for the Spring semester?

Thanks.

First - you need to apply as early as possible because Maryland fills the majority of its seats from applications received by their priority/early action date.

Second - the way they worked it this year, they did not have a waitlist. If you weren't accepted for Fall, but were considered a viable candidate, they offered you Spring admission and a Fall program that is living in near-campus housing (like University View next to north campus) and a choice from a limited set of core classes offered in late afternoon/early evening. I have a friend who was offered this alternative and she accepted for Spring, but is going to community college for Fall semester and then will come on campus for Spring semester.

So if they are filling their seats for Spring this way, I'm not sure that applying for the Spring gives you any advantage. You might want to call the admissions office and ask them straight up!

Thanks for the post. I will work it out.
