Hello, I am in the process of hearing back from colleges and was wondering what my chances were. I have a 3.41 gpa, with a SAT score of 1500 and ACT score of 22. I am applying to only CSU’s with Cal Poly SLO and SDSU as my reaches. I am also applying to Fullerton, Long Beach, Pomona, San Jose, San Francisco and Chico; all with a major in Business Marketing. I realize that some of these schools (SLO) are quite competitive so I would like to know what my chances are. Thanks!
SLO: Reach
SDSU: Low Reach
CSUF/CSULB: High Match
SJSU/CPP/SFSU/CHICO: Match
I do not see a safety unless one of your Match schools is in your local service area. Good Luck.
Cal Poly SLO and SDSU are definitely reaches for you, but the rest of your list includes the most popular CSUs and business is always an impacted major. Do you get local preference at any of them?
You can check the admitted student profiles of the colleges. I’ve listed a couple.
Your chances are slightly better if you are a California resident.
For now, I think SLO is out of reach.
check: cpslo admitted student profile
Business applied 6,709 accepted 2,291 GPA 3.99 ACT: 30 SAT: 1330/1600
For Chico, Freshman Profile
Average High School GPA: 3.45 (admits) / 3.33 (enrolled)
Mean SAT Scores (composite: math and verbal): 1046 (admits) / 1024 (enrolled)
For SDSU, which is a very competitive school: your eligibility is low. Both Long Beach and SDSU are reaches.

I believe so for SJSU and SFSU. I have already received admission to Chico.
I also applied to Humboldt and Monterey Bay, though I have no desire to attend these schools.
