Admissions in terms of ... let's say, music majors

Is it typical of Northwestern to look more at your audition in the music department (if you are a prospective music major) than let's say...your standardized test scores? IT would make sense to me, but i'm not sure about that whole thing, since you need talent to get in. But, how highly do they regard academics (i mean, i KNOW it is a nutz school to get into, but, do they give potential music majors a smidge of leeway? what's the deal with all of that)

Thanks!

Hi Jeremy. The Northwestern School of Music, as far as an ACT score is looking for a 27-29....which is a bit lower than the median of the entire university for admissions. For the SAT, I believe that they are looking for a 1370/1600 (the old SAT) or at least a 2055/2400 on the new SAT. But yes, the music audition it the main factor when applying to any school of music! But for NU especially, be sure to do a good job on the application and audition if Standardized tests aren't your strong point, I know they aren't mine.
