Just wanted to address all of the questions, moans, groans, and whatnot about deadlines and admissions communication with Pomona. :)

The application deadline is when materials are DUE at the Admissions Office. If necessary, you can FedEx your information. (In the interest of full disclosure, D's app was FedExed four years ago.)

PLEASE NOTE: Because the Admissions Office can get easily swamped with the confluence of applications (around deadline time) plus personal inquiries, don't get too worried if you don't receive confirmation of receipt for several weeks after you've submitted you app.
All applicants receive an e-mail from the Admissions Office with a username and password to the website to track materials, transcripts, teacher evals, school reports, and test scores. (You might want to add the Pomona e-dress to your safe senders list to ensure that e-mails don't end up in your spam filter.)

SUMMARY OF POMONA COMMUNICATIONS
Mail notification of the receipt of your app

E-mail notification when application is considered complete

E-mail notification of any missing pieces between the snail mail and e-mail notifications above.

You can also check the missing items website page periodically until you receive the notice that the application is complete. In fact, I believe the Admissions Office prefers that you check the website rather than calling or e-mailing since every call/e-mail to which they have to respond will take time away from processing apps.

Good luck to everyone!
