Hello, everyone.

Does anyone know what is Skidmore College's admissions notification date?

I believe it’s April 1st. Just from reading another CC thread, people apparently got an email around mid-March that gave specific notification dates. An admission officer sent me and my counselor an email saying I was missing a part of my application (my counselor forgot to send it, whoops… thankfully it was quickly cleared up), but more importantly that they would be going into committee this week. Based on that information, I’d assume that, just as in previous years, we’ll know of our admission decision by late March/early April.
Good luck!

@genetiguy,

Last year’s applicants got an email in mid-March, is that what you’re saying?

That’s what I read in another thread, yes.

Thank you!

a kid at my school heard back today

What? How can that be? They just told me decisions will come out at the end of the month.

Maybe they were contacted by a coach?

someone in my area (international) has got in on the 7th!
quite unbelievable, and i’m getting anxious…

Has anyone heard anything yet?

Nothing yet, probably another week or so!

I just got an e-mail from skidmore saying that i was accepted and invited to their “under represented students day”!!! anyways, in the e-mail they said official notification will go out by mail on march 22nd.

still waiting to hear from them

Why would they notify some students today and others in a week?

It’s pretty common for some schools to release decisions in batches to relieve stress on the admissions officers and in some case make more space in the office hahaha. Remember Skidmore got an unprecedented increase in apps so they’re prob still putting together acceptance packages, rejection and waitlist letters to be mailed.

It also seems that they’ve been sending acceptances early to mostly international applicants. It makes sense considering they have to travel farther to get to accepted students events

@testbulk: You mean that other international applicants who haven’t received any email from Skidmore College are rejected or waitlisted?
Also, I applied ED I and was deferred to RD pool. Is that the reason why I haven’t received any email from Skidmore? Thanks!

My son got an email acceptance yesterday, and as it was accompanied by a full ride scholarship offer, we couldn’t be happier. It was quite incredible, especially given the 42% increase in applications, making Skidmore the college with the fastest growing application flow, and correspondingly, this year’s fastest descending admission rate. He has applied to 17 colleges, but I can’t see how he could pass this one up, as the more I look at what Skidmore has to offer, the better it looks. And with the huge number of applications this year, Skidmore can afford to be a whole lot more selective than ever before. As the president of Skidmore noted in a recent interview, the college sees this applcation upturn as an opportunity to move Skidmore up to the next level of quality.

@karolhoang: I don’t think that international applicants who haven’t received an e-mail means that they were rejected or waitlisted. I was just pointing out a trend I noticed in the people who have received acceptances so far. I could be wrong.
