I don’t think that Pitzer is going to be able to give a date of advance notice. The woman I spoke to said that they would try to mail all the decisions out by Friday but that she couldn’t say for sure because they received a large amount of applicants this year. We’ll see…

Do you think the reason they put admissions decisions online after quitting time is to avoid phone calls from suicidal students and homicidal parents? Gives everyone a night to calm down. Otherwise, why not noon?

An admissions counselor said that various high schools had requested that decisions be released after school, so as not to disrupt the school day. I guess they felt that there’s something to be said for students and families to initially receive and process the decision at home.

I know that so far the official date for Ivy decisions this year is March 31, but consider the following previous Ivy dates:

2014: Thursday, March 27
2013: Thursday, March 28
2012: Thursday, March 29

I predict that this year will be Thursday, March 26, despite what we’ve seen and heard. I also predict that Stanford will release its decisions on Friday, March 27. But time will tell!

Friend’s son just received Boston College decision. Apparently emails are going out between now and 10 pm. (In batches?? Not certain)

On the NYU thread someone said that an admissions officer told the crowd at a presentation that they always release on the last Friday of March, which would be March 27 this year.
