@study222 very probable they have been. I don’t know too much about BU, but I do know that many of the very prestigious universities have agreed to release decisions at the end of March, but they very well could have accepted you in January. What happens is if they really like an applicant then they’ll sent them a letter basically saying that they loved their application, just so they have a lead on them. Hope that helps!
Applied to 4 Ivys and only received two interviews and one of the two was a facetime iphone interview which tells me if they really want to interview you they find a way. My guess is that I was on the radar with 2 of the 4 schools I applied to…just a hunch.
@study222 If you’re a domestic applicant, Ivies try to interview every candidate. If your interviewer was an alum, then your interviewer does not have any information about your application.
So excited! American college/university release dates should all be announced tomorrow!
I’m excited to receive the email from American as well!
@gonewiththeair You are correct. I’m not sure where that information came from…unless someone read the email wrong. The email said “we will notify you on March 7th as to when we will send decisions out”
@NicolasCageAf I did read those posts, thank you. I was just wondering if anyone had new information for 2016. I am using this forum for exactly what it’s meant for: “Admissions Notifications 2016”. Thank you so much for all your help.
How do we know about Lehigh?
@CharmedKS1997
Sorry for coming off a bit rude. My bad.
UCLA is apparently coming out on the 18th although that is just a rumor at this point.
Good luck to you…I assume you applied there
I’m aware that alumni interviewers don’t have your information…I just meant because they are able to do face time/Skype interviews then everyone should get an interview but they don’t. I know that my interviewer had a busy schedule and career and I highly doubt that colleges are looking to waste the time of volunteer alumni interviewer if they’re truly not interested in the applicant…common sense.
@study222 If you live in the US, when your application arrives, your name is sent out for an alumni interview. Nobody has even looked at your application at that point. They will interview everybody they can, even if it’s the worst applicant ever, because the college won’t know…they haven’t opened it or read it before your name is sent to the alumni interview committee. The problem is is that some of the interview volunteers end up not having the time to interview you even if its on FaceTime or Skype because they get busy, or something comes up, etc. so then you are never called for an interview. I wouldn’t assume that the two that interviewed you are more interested than the other two…just random luck.
@study222 If you live in the US, the fact that you received an alumni interview means nothing for your chances. They try to interview everyone.
Pretty sure Lehigh is coming out the 24th that Thursday
University of Chicago releasing decisions on March 16th.
Is WUSTL today (7th)? Let’s see, I guess
Check the college’s twitter account. They will usually post a tweet if they are releasing. Nothing yet from Wash U. Most likely it will be Friday.
Can anyone else give information about Lehigh’s release date?
An update from Colgate’s website: they’ll be sending decisions on March 18.
American University will start sending out letters to domestic applicants with decisions the week of March 21. All students should expect to receive a decision by March 31…
