I literally called the admissions office just a few minutes ago and asked whether decisions would be released online and the lady sounded somewhat confused and told me that they would only be mailed to us and it would be sent early april.

Yeah the app status/decision page that I had bookmarked is now broken

And on the main admissions login page:
"Check Your Application Status
It is no longer possible to check the status of your application."

Judging from past online decision releases (like at other colleges), this means they're preparing to put decisions up (makes sense, just 2 weeks away from the 29th).

Hmmmm... is the site down because they're going to mail decisions, or they're preparing to put decisions online? The plot thickens.

AHHHHH, say it aint so!!!

I think even before the website was taken down, it said the "check status" thing would only be available to a certain date...which makes sense because you no longer need to check status because if something is missing, it's too late anyway.

the status page said it'd be down after march 10, but i always assumed that princeton would email it to us...

yep, as i said before, most colleges make their decisions/status pages unavailable as they prepare to put decisions up

i REALLY dont like the idea of onlyl having our decisions mailed to us, b/c the last time princeton mailed something to me, it was a deferral letter :'(

It clearly states in the email Princeton sent out earlier that decisions will be online in "early April."

The original poster is mistaken, the site definitely has a mechanism for notification. Several sources from Princeton in print and online can confirm this, as well as the date and time of March 29th, 5pm.

I e-mailed the admissions office and here's what they gave me:

Dear Jon,

You are able to check the status of your application online at http://www.princeton.edu/main/admission-aid/undergraduate/, by clicking on “check”, using your emqail address and PIN number from your application. You will be able to see the items that have and have not been submitted to the Admission Office. You will also be able to check online the status of your admission decision when we mail decisions in April. We wish you all the best.

I also contacted Princeton yesterday, and I was notified that we'd be receiving emails, but the officer refused to reveal when these emails would be sent.

i hope 3/29, like all ivies

Some of the Cornell Colleges started notifications 3 weeks ago.

Probably the original poster spoke to someone who just answered the telephone and wasn't an admissions officer.
The woman was probably going upon prior practice.

its most def they are loading our decisions into the computerz, that's why they said March 10th was last day to check status. they need some time to load our decisions into the computerz

E-mails? I thought we had to go to the site to check our decisions, not receivng a decision e-mail from Princeton...

so if they're already loading our decisions online, I guess they're done. It's a weird feeling.

I think the admissions office is being ambiguous on purpose. That way, no one will complain if decisions are not "on time".

Hey guys, I was admitted last year, and I was also very confused about how Princeton would notify students of admission. They do not notify through e-mail. I received a packet the day after the ivy league notification date, which was a friday, and I think that will probably be the case for this year as well. Good luck!

^thanks for the info. It seems Princeton is adverse to putting decisions online. Unfortuantly, when I was waiting for my ED decision, my letter came 2 weeks late. -_-
