Admissions Packages and Financial Aid

When will the admissions packages come? I know Columbia mailed theirs overnight... what about Penn?

Also, will the financial aid package be included in this, or will it come separately?

Thanks! I've been trolling this forum for a while, but I only just registered.

if you check on the website for your decision, there is a sidebar called “my penn plan.” Click on it and you’ll be able to see your financial aid package.

I did. However, it is definitely not there yet, as it has me paying everything aside from a $5500 loan…

@Jacy, FA package usually comes separately in the mail. The one on the site is an estimate

@Disgradius, Do you mean FA package will come separately from the acceptance package? S1’s packet arrived today with no mention of financial aid.

I only have $5,500 in loan listed as well… which worries me because when i accepted the ED offer I was told i would get more like $23,000 lol

Same here! I accepted the ED offer… which said I would get 35,000… now it’s just $5,500 in loans… I’m scared ****less as I have long ago withdrew my other apps. I hope Penn hasn’t posted the official FA package because there is no way I can pay for it and my financial situation hasn’t changed. If this is real, my mom says that we’re going to have to sue.

Where do I access the Reply Online link? I have looked for it on the decisions page, but I can’t seem to find it.

I was accepted ED, but I didn’t get enough either. I called the SFS and they told me fill out a reevaluation form.

Try to fill the Reevalutation Form ASAP!!! They gave $9,000 extra to what I already had! They are very generous and will give you enough aid!

They are not exactly generous, but if there is a change in your circumstances, or any special condition that could have been overlooked in the original forms that might be cause problems in your attendance, they will reconsider your award for sure :)

In my case, my mother is a single mother, plus her salary from 2008 to 2009 was cut in two. I think that is why I got more aid. But filling out a reevaluation form cannot hurt!

I just received my acceptance package, but no FA. And it still says I’m paying everything aside form a $5500 loan on MyPennPlan.

They probably made a mistake. You should just call.

Same with me. I think if there is just the 5500 there on My PennPlan, you are either missing a document, or they haven’t fully processed it yet. I got my acceptance packet with no mention of financial aid, but that has been the norm for all the schools that I have been accepted too except for Duke.

does anyone know if penn gives travel waivers for admitted students??

the same happened with me. I called the financial aid office (im in nursing so I have a special advisor, maybe you guys do to?) and she emailed me the correct financial plan. Also, it was fixed later that day. So give them a call.

About the reevaluation form, where can you get those?

honeyjay–i’m wondering the same thing. It’s gonna be really expensive for me to fly to Penn so I don’t know if I can without a travel waiver…

i might just try calling the financial aid office sometime this week and just see how it goes. haha.

Dear Jinnesse,

Unfortunately we do not offer any travel vouchers or waivers for school visits or Penn Preview Days.

SFS/gl

Thats what they said when I emailed the financial aid office, but I also emailed admissions hopefully they say something different!

But what about the packages? Does anyone know if they have already been sent?

My Penn Plan said that they were giving me $0.00 dollars in aid, which is very weird considering that I applied for at least a 20k financial aid. Has this happened to anyone else?
