Admissions Process

I've been hearing many different things about the admissions process from "they go by GPA when they choose people" to "they have no particular order and they go at random". Does anyone know the real truth?

I applied November 1st and I'm still in the "being reviewed" phase. My friends applied way later than me and already got accepted.

My stats
GPA: 3.7 unweighted
4.8 weighted
25 ACT

I don't know if it is because of my stats or something but the wait is killing me especially since UCF is one of my top choices

Excluding those candidates with exceptionally high stats, the application process is usually a waiting game. That being said, your SAT score is a bit below average and your weighed GPA cannot increase more than 1 full point over your unweighed GPA. I’d seek guidance from the UCF website regarding weighed GPA calculation method as your “TRUE” UCF gpa may be lower than you are indicating which may be another area of concern. Remember that GPA is based solely on core classes.
