<p>Hey everyone. This is my first post, so I don't know if this should be posted here or elsewhere...Nevertheless, here is my question:
I am in the middle of my high school career. My grades are great (all A's) except for a C I made in a dumb elective my freshman year. I am taking 4 APs next semester (they're not that hard for me) and I'm on track to take all APs my Junior and Senior year. Because of the dumb C I don't have a 4.0. Here are my other credentials:
I'm in my 4th year of Arabic Study, and starting next semester I'll be a professional Arabic-English translator at a company.
I just started a philosophy blog, was a former columnist at a national political magazine, and I wrote a book.
My school closed their debate club a few years back (even though they have 2700 students) and I'm starting the club up again (making me the founder and leader of the new club.)
If my PSAT score is any foreshadowing of my SAT score (and I'll be getting those scores back later this month) then I should have something like a 2150-2200.
I'm on track to complete high school with 16 AP classes, and 14 AP creds (the 16 classes include one semester courses like AP Gov, AP Macroecon, etc.)</p>

<p>My problem is this: if I keep up the good work, and I continue to get all A's, will that one C in Freshman year stop me from getting into either of my dream schools: Princeton and Stanford?
Do I have a good chance???</p>

<p>If you are not accepted to either Stanford or Princeton it will have very little to do with getting a “C” in your freshmen year. In fact, Stanford does not even take into account freshmen grades when making admissions decisions. Take a look at the link below, starting on page 2, of the latest post of Stanford applicants on CC, who applied REA, and were either accepted or rejected:</p>

<p>Oh…really? I had no idea…but what about my cumulative GPA…won’t that be massively affected by the C? Won’t they see that?</p>
