Yes, they automatically defer you to summer.

Yes, I think you have a great chance. My S applied for Summer B (to try to increase his chances for admission) and was placed in Fall semester. Their response was that they were moving some of the kids who applied for Summer with lots of AP credits and good stats to Fall semester. So that could happen too.

You’ll be fine. Be sure to take Intro to Engineering to make sure you want to pursue ChemE. There is so much to Engineering and lot that have distinctions that might appeal to you including materials, agriculture, etc. Good luck and I think you have a wonderful chance.

PS- I am currently studying Industrial & Systems Engineering. Similar Stats.

Thank you!

Also, when do admissions open up?

They should already be… Hmm… I applied exactly one year ago today. Keep your eyes open. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU APPLY EARLY. If I can only get you to take one piece of advice, it’s that you need to apply ASAP!!!

Also, apply for your housing right after you apply for admission. If you apply in July and August, and apply for housing ($30?) like a week later, you will get a really great housing app. # and get great on campus housing next year, providing that you are admitted. Don’t wait on housing—pay the $30 or so and you will get a housing app # that will be really important if you get in for on campus housing.
