Admissions Question

Hello everyone! I know this is really an out of season question to be asking, but it's been on my mind a lot. How much does the University of Minnesota look at extra curricular activities? I'm worried that I will not get in, but I really want to go to this college. My GPA is about 3.3-3.4 but I am really trying for it to be a 3.5 by beginning of my senior year (I'm a junior now). I've been in chess, robotics, debate next year, and possibly student council next year.

I've looked at charts with a lot of information about accepted students but I'm not really sure what to think. How much does the university consider other factors?

ECs are considered. Not important.

Yeah, Extra Curriculars are probably near the bottom of the list, more important is the classes you take, GPA, and ACT/SAT scores.

As long as you have a few activities listed, you should be fine. The U of M mostly looks at academic factors. The [Academic Profile](Academic Profile of Fall 2022 Admitted Freshman Applicants by College | Office of Admissions) of freshman admitted for fall 2011 might be useful for determining how well you compare to admitted students.
