If I take my senior year at Santa Barbara City College, instead of at my high school, how will UC's look at this? I had about a 4.0 Weighted my first two years. I want to apply to UCLA, UCI, UCSB, Pepperdine, Pomona... all so cal schools.

My understanding is that if you graduate early and go to a calif jc, you are no longer a frosh candidate and will have to wait to be a transfer. However, if you stay for sr yr at your h.s., its pretty common to enroll at SBCC as a high school student for a few courses, you can have those added t your h.s. transcript and they are considered weighted courses for gpa. You of course need to check with your h.s. on this, but that's how it works here in the O.C.

Agreed. Classes taken at a CC before graduation can be counted for both high school and college as long as they are approved by the high school. However, once you acquire a number of college units post graduation, you will have to wait until you are at junior level standing and would have to transfer.

Your best bet is to stay enrolled in 2 or 3 classes at your high school and do a couple CC courses in addition to that. My senior year, I took 3 courses at my HS (Math, English, and teacher aide elective) and was out by 9 am everyday, so it's really not all that tough. This way you're still a high school student and can apply as a freshman.
