Admissions question

one of my friends did an interview at barnard with a senior and she told my friend that barnard looks at the whole person as an individual than just looking at the grades and SAT scores. but im just curious, what exactly are they looking for then besides community service activities and such?

They're looking for the whole package. The girl who can balance the academics with the ECs. The one who has something unique. The one who writes beautifully. The one with a special story to tell. They're looking for all kinds of things. That's the great thing about Barnard admissions. They want you to be you. They take you as a whole into consideration rather than as a series of numbers on a page. Just be yourself and you'll be fine.

AND, they are seeking to achieve a good balance of talents within each class, I believe. In other words, they won't accept 300 talented writers....they want writers and dancers and artists and scientists, etc....

i wholeheartedly agree with the above post
i actually wrote that i hated writing
and that if there was no science in the world, the world would suck
in more elegant terms, of course
and i guess barnard needed more hardcore science people
yay!
