If I apply to Cockrell and McCombs, does it affect my ability to get into the University itself? Meaning, will my chances lower of getting into UT if I'm not good enough for those two? Or would they see that I can do well at UT and just put me in the School of Undergraduate Studies? Or should I put one of those 2 as my top choice, and another one that's easier to get into as my second choice?

If you get rejected by both schools, you won’t be accepted into the university. Put an easier one as your second choice and do an internal transfer if you want to.

I heard that recently if you get rejected from your first two, they will consider you for the Undergraduate Studies/UGS school. Is that correct?

I’m not sure… I thought they would at least consider you for the UGS, but I’m still not sure.

Why Two Kay is right. Everybody is compared for the third (much easier) UG School… That’s according to an admissions officer I spoke to during a visit…

Y2K is correct. If you don’t get into either McCombs or Cockrell, you will be considered for UGS and still stand a chance at getting into the university.

So, list Cockrell and McCombs, and if you don’t get into either, they will automatically review you for UGS.

Thank you guys so much! You’ve been a tremendous help.
