Admissions Questions

Under activities... I don't know how many hours I put into things. I just know that I did them. How seriously do admissions officers take these number of hours per week and weeks per years? I mean, who even keeps count of these things? And some stuff was like... thinking about stuff, so I wasn't always aggresively coding at my computer, but thinking about stuff at the grocery store or what not.

Also, it doesn't show my Essay B on the preview for section two!

PS: When people ask for chances on this board, I noticed that they list far more than they can put on the MIT application. Why do they do this?

Because they are overachievers =P

Just put your best estimate for the number of hours. As you can imagine, the admissions officers are just trying to get a ballpark figure for the amount of time you spend on each activity -- it's sort of an informal metric for how much a given activity is "worth" to you.

My theory is that chances threads are not about chances -- nobody can give your "chances" to a school like MIT anyway. This is why I avoid chances threads.

why would anyone avoide chances threads?!?! : ) I love the sarcasm on most of them, lol
