Admissions Questions

A friend has applied "regular admission" to the University of Washington. It is his first choice.

I am reluctant to ask him if he has been accepted because it appears that he may be a "bubble" applicant.

My questions are:

1- Does Washington have "rolling admissions" or are all "regular admission" applicants informed of their status on April 15th? From the prior posts it appears that some applicants have already been admitted; are these admits "Early Decision" or "Early Action" only?

2- My friend lives on the East Coast. Does the non State of Washington residency hurt ihs chance of admissions? Does being from the East help his chances?

Thanks.

yes, UW has rolling admissions.

UW is more loyal to Washington kids, because it is a public school. on the other hand, it likes out of state kids because they pay more tuition. so i wouldn’t say being from the east would hurt him. also, he might add more diversity to the school. so it could help.
