what do you need to get second semester senior year so that your offer of admission won't be rescinded?

All enrolling students must submit their official final high school transcript(s) to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Attn: Application Coordinator by July 1, 2006. Remember: Your admission to Johns Hopkins is contingent upon the successful completion of your senior year in a manner consistent with the basis upon which you were admitted.

is there any specific cutoff?

According to the admissions packet, a grade of D or F must be accompanied by a written explanation.

but I doubt getting all C's will be okay. One perhaps, and maybe two?

Admission to Johns Hopkins University for all applicants is contingent on the successful completion of high school and a review of an enrolling student's final transcript. The answer is vague as there is not set rules to final transcript review and each and every situation is taken on a case-by-case basis. Last year a handful of students had their admission revoked for poor grades, disciplinary actions, and providing false information in their application.

As far as what constitutes poor grades, we are evaluating for a serious downgrade in performance. Typically this is seen in a number of C and D grades, as well as failures. Having "senioritis" a bit, struggling with senior year rigor, getting a few Bs is understandable -- it is when there are a number of seriously poor grades will a thorough evaluation take place.

would one C be okay?

If people get rescinded, do waitlistees fill in the empty space?

kleos -- please read the message above. I think I made it quite clear... "a number of low grades..."

theonlyone - no. we will have made all of our decisions about the waitlist prior to making decisions about rescinding any admission offers.
