Admissions rescinded?

I am considering going to Cal Poly for an engineering or computer science field. I applied with mechanical engineering as my first choice major.

However, I am worried that I will be rescinded because I listed my senior year course schedule with Gov&Pol/AP covering two semesters;since Gov&Pol/AP lasts only one semester, I have Econ in the semester semester.

In addition, I did not list Trigonometry, a community college course, in the application since it was not UC transferable, but is CSU transferable. I got a B in the course.

Will I be rescinded because of these factors?

i doubt it.
i think that the freshman contract says that you just have to keep your gpa above a 3.0. i would still call the school asap and explain your problem.

call asap.

I have already called and they said that Cal Poly will decide when all the registration documents and transcripts are sent to them.

need help: You don't have to keep your GPA above 3.0. Here are the exact words from the Freshman Terms and Conditions.

"The conditions of your admission are satisfied and you will be officially accepted to Cal Poly by completing the following: . . .

lee121, many people from your school probably applied over the last couple years so they will know which courses at your school is only half a semester and which are a full year. Plus when you applied and selected the school you attended, they already had most of the courses your school provides. I wouldn't worry if I were you and if they did not understand your application they would either not accept you or they would have contacted your school.

and for your trignometry class, i dont think it matters if you have an additional class. if you dropped a class that might be a problem

I took the trigonometry class before my senior year and had received already received a grade for it.

Does that affect my admissions in any way?

Thank you

forget to put any courses you took at a college, doesn't affect your admissions if you're in high school. did you end up talking another math class your senior year? because if you took a higher level after that, i'm sure they could assume that you had taken trig elsewhere.

I took trig along with precalculus in the community college.

Im concerned that Cal Poly will think Im trying to hide my grade in Trigonometry.

I just talked to a Mike in admissions (he's a nice guy,) and he told me Cal Poly validates all the information submitted on the application to make sure that you actually earned the grades you said you earned and take the classes you said your were going to take. He also indicated that you need to get a C or better for all the work you listed as in progress or planned...

i have been admitted to cal poly san luis obispo. however, i am failing AP calc and AP stats. i emailed the office of admissions regarding my situation and the status of my grades but they said i need to get at least cs in all classes. and i think its almost impossible for me to raise my Fs to Cs.

nevertheless, i am almost certain i have passed the ap test for both these classes.
do you think they will really defer my admission?
:/

^yes (10 char)

Does a C- still count as a C? Or do you have to get at least a 73%?

from what i've heard.. a C- counts, but don't quote me. you might wanna just call and ask to make sure.

yes, a c- is the same thing as a c at my school.
but i don't think i will be able to get a c- :/

do you think there is anything i can do to keep from being rescinded?

p.s. if worse comes to worst, (knock on wood) would it be a better idea to go to UCRIVERSIDE or go to santa monica community college ( they have a 90% transfer rate) and transfer?

Why don't you call and ask them if passing the AP test with a good score would be an acceptable substitute for a failing grade in the class? You could also ask if they would accept you taking and passing it at a cc this summer.
