Varsity Baseball, Eagle Scout, Presidential Campaign Intern, Presidential Classroom, HOBY, Active Youth Group Member, Numerous Volunteering Campaigns ....... etc.

Claim to fame (what i tried to stress separated me from the field) - My extensive work in, and passion for, political science Tools used to note this - AP Gov and US teacher recs, Eagle Scout, AP Gov score, extensive experience as intern in this year's election

I thought my interview went well but I have herd that it does not hold much weight

I do not believe I have much of a shot, knowing the incredible characteristics of those who are accepted (we have two high school alums currently enrolled at Georgetown) ..... but I would like to know your opinion.

Your stats make you a qualified candidate, however Georgetown is so competitive that you need to have some sort of "hook" if you only have mediocre stats. Also, it seems that your EC's don't have much to do with your intended major. Sorry, but I think it's a longshot. Get involved in a BUNCH of finance/business related EC's this year, win some nice awards, and let the admissions office know about your extra accomplishments and that you are still interested - then you would stand a chance RD.

But, I'm a fellow '09er...what do I know anyway?

we really only have one business ec in our school... 'Future Business Leaders of America' ... I'm the treasurer of that EC and noted it on the app .... but i see what your saying

Under-Represented Minority, aka: African-American, Hispanic, or Native American; being one of those aforementioned races gives you a slight edge in admissions. If you're Asian then you'd be an ORM or Over-Represented Minority, in which case you'd be at a slight disadvantage.

I think you have a pretty good handle on the situation.

^ aww no need to be rude! everyone has bad test days.

i think u still have a shot, im sort of in ur position--i bombed one of my SAT IIs (530). on the bright side MSB is SLIGHTLY less competitive than the other schools. good luck!

I think AmandaMundt's question is totally warranted.

Especially since the OP scored well in the writing section of the SAT (not that the writing section counts for anything at Georgetown), and okay on the CR section.

You mean seals your 'fate'? I don't know, SAT II's aren't nearly as a large a factor as the SAT Reasoning, and generally they can only count for you, but a 460 might tip the scales a bit.
