UT Austin makes it difficult to predict admissions likelihood: reach, match, … While the averages reported by Naviance for our OOS high school are relatively low, the scatterplot data are, well, scattered with some rejections well above and to the right of the average. I attribute this to a large discrepency in the admissions competitiveness of different majors.
Are admissions statistics for UT available by major? Some UT colleges make basic information available for the whole college. For example, CNS provides average SAT and ACT in their FAQ but no data by major. This information would be helpful.
I have looked for CNS data by major and can’t find it. i suspect those highly qualified rejections you are seeing are computer science. Anyway to tell in Naviance?
@epacsmis I have not tried to look at other colleges at UT but Cockrell gives last year’s stats for each major for how many applicants they have, how many students enrolled, average SAT and average HS rank. Another data point is Cockrell shows for each major the GPA for the last three years for internal transfers.
