Admissions' Statistics

I feel offended by the post from June which implies that underrepresented minorities are not as exceptional as "Jews."
It is a really disguisting statement!

Total apps: 22,754
Total admits: 2,124
Total matriculants: 1,684
Overall admit rate: 9.3%
Overall yield rate: 79.3%
RD yield rate (estimated) 71.4%

EA apps: 3869
EA admits: 813
EA admit rate: 21%
EA rejected: 151
EA deferred: 2,905
EA admitted after deferral (estimated): 183
EA deferred admit rate (estimated) 6.3%

Admitted from waiting list: 17

RD apps: 18,885
RD admits (including EA deferreds): 1,311
RD admit rate (including EA deferreds - pool total: 21,790): 6%

Male apps: 11,030
Males admitted: 1,023
Male matriculants: 803
Male admit rate: 9.3%
Male yield rate: 78.5%

Female apps: 11,724
Females admitted: 1,101
Female matriculants: 881
Female admit rate: 9.4%
Female yield rate: 80%

Byerly,

So you are sayying that roughly 27.3% (21% + 6.3%) of the EA applicants were ultimately admitted and less than 6% of the RD applicants were admitted.

Any information on the stats of the class, i.e. the new SAT writing numbers.

I'd also like to hear what the average SAT 2 numbers are along with the number and quality of the AP scores. Thanks for posting.

Not quite: 25.7% of the early pool applicants were eventually admitted - either originally or after deferral. (183 + 813 divided by 3,869 applicants.)

The admit rate at Yale for early applicants is actually a bit higher, since Yale admits a larger number of early round deferrees.

I do not, at this date, have stats on SAT scores or AP scores for matriculants.

Does anyone have the statistics for the class of 2011 EA admitted/deferred/ rejected numbers?

I just saw somebody on the Yale board post the full loadout (number applied, applications per country, etc etc) and now I'm wondering whether such statistics are floating around about harvard.

Total apps: 22955
Total admits: 2058
Overall admit rate: 8.96%

EA apps: 4008
EA admits: 861 (21.5%)

RD apps: 18947
EA deferred: 2917
Total RD pool: 21864
RD admits: 1197
RD admit rate: 5.47%

Anything on waitlists?
