Admissions to honors program

How soon do people generally find out if they're admitted to the Honors program? I received my acceptance to the U (Institute of Technology) about mid-November, but have yet to hear anything about the Honors Program, while I know people with lower ACT scores and a lower GPA that got acceptances into the Honors Program more than a month ago.

I scored a 34 on the ACT and I have a 3.82 unweighted GPA... and I really want into the Honors Program. :/

I emailed them about a month ago asking this. They said they will come out in mid- to late-march. I was kind of confused by this when some people said they already got in to the honors program.

Me too! They said that they will make the decision in late march.
I am an international student. My SAT score is 1970(CR+MATH 1360),GPA above3.5.
I am wondering if it is that hard to get into the honor program, since UMN has done a lot of changes this year.

I'm not sure how hard it is to get in. My SAT is 1510/1600 (2210/2400), my GPA is 3.8, and my ACT was 34 while some of the people who I know got in did not take the ACT, had GPAs of ~3.9, and 26-29 on the ACT.

I just received my Honors acceptance letter in the mail today.

My son received notification that he is being offered over $10,000 annually in scholarships... along with a scholarship paying the difference between resident and out of state student tuition (we're from Nebraska)... so, I guess he has another 'fall back' school to consider. :o)

I don't recall seeing anything mentioned about admission to the honors program, although I'd hope he would be considered in light of the generous scholarships they have offered him.

For CLA they aren't coming out with them until later, although some kids who took PSEO were already notified of their acceptance. On their website it says that the typical minimum ACT score is 28, SAT is 1260 math/verbal, and that students are typically in the top 10% of their class, but there are always extenuating circumstances.

Well, I know I was notified today of acceptance into the Honors program. :)

Jarn, what college are you in? CLA...?

IT. (10 chars)

I just got a postcard saying I got into the Honors Program... I really have no idea what it is, though - I just remember selecting the box saying 'I am interested in the University Honors Program'

Applied to CBS

y does minnesota tell me no one will find out about honors till late march? it seems like every1 here knows about honors already!

hmm... i'm kinda nervous that i havent heard anything back yet, since alot of people here have already heard.

a postcard...? that seems really unofficial, but i dont see how it isnt legitimate if it says that you were accepted to the honors program.

The only college that hasn't heard yet is the College of Liberal Arts because of it's application pool. It is much larger and therefore takes more time to re-review for honors consideration. Trust me, I'm as anxious as anyone else, but we'll find out by the end of next month along with the scholarships.

The postcard said to check my email - I got an with a link to info about UHP. I also got an official letter a few days earlier which my parents temporarily lost.

OHMY~I am sooo nervous now!
No Honor, No going.....

Just got in honors today!

Targetred, what school are you in?

1) what are your stats honor admits?
2) were you notified with the admit packet or later on?

Guys.
I had a bad new about the honor program.
"The honors program is very competitive for admission. The average
student admitted there has a 1460 SAT with a 750 math score. Honors
students also traditionally have very near a perfect grade point
average. Final honors decisions will be made by the end of March and
mailed out by April 1."
Oh my!
