Admissions

When does Auburn start its rolling admissions?

They have already started – I believe. The online application is available; it will take 2-3 weeks for admission decision. Good luck!

My son applied on August 1st, and some of his friends just found out online that they had been accepted. My son’s status still says “complete and ready for review”. I don’t know if that means he was deferred until next round, or
If he truly hasn’t been reviewed yet.

I would like to know the same thing. My daughter’s says that also…and I check it every day! We didn’t put an application preference, so I wonder if that makes a difference?

We too are anxiously awaiting an answer, although DD only completed the application on Oct 1. so we are not the earliest to apply. This is, of course, thanks to the crack staff of GC’s at her school, who seem to think most kids start applying to college in November. Please forgive my sarcasm…

I wish all of you the best of luck in the application process. This is our 2nd of 4 going through the college process and if I have any hair left after this one it will be a shock.

We are from the Northeast/Mid Atlantic and my daughter really loved Auburn so it is definately in her top 3. Hope the $ works out.

I had just checked on-line the other day to make sure they had everything they needed for my daughter and it said accepted so they’ve started. We haven’t heard anything from them via e-mail or mail yet though.

Did anyone else receive the “Very Impressive Tiger” mailing?

Was it before or after you found out you were accepted?

Good luck to everyone…my S has enjoyed his first three semseters at Auburn a great deal…if you plan on living on campus it is imperative to get your housing deposit in as soon as you are accepted. We almost waited because we were not sure where he would attend. But thankfully we sent it in just in case. The best housing will be snapped up and it will be awarded based on your housing deposit date.

Thanks to this thread I checked my son’s account and it said accepted!

He is waiting on too many other schools to know if this will be the school he chooses. So if I have this right:

I should pay the $200 admissions deposit because I cannot make a housing deposit unless I pay for admissions deposit?? (refundable ifpaid within 30 days of receiving acceptance??)
I don’t see an acceptance date online. Is anyone who has been accepted able to advise how to figure out acceptance date??

I should pay the housing deposit to not get wait listed for on campus housing, but if S decides not to go to Auburn is the cancellation deadline in your housing assignment information earlier than May 1?? Auburn’s website says you will not be given cancellation deadline until after you pay.

If S applies for housing and is hoping for Honors Housing can he write that as his 1st choice before he hears if accepted to Honors??

The folks in Auburns housing dept are very helpful…I would call if you have questions. Although we risked losing some money if my son chose elsewhere, it is worth it if Auburn is a serious contender.

S ended up in the Village, in the suite style honors housing. His original early deposit date was also used to determine his sophomore housing options.

Fyi … In the past you could change your dorm selections at no penalty but getting the deposit date is key

Thanks eaglereader I think I will give them a call. I am glad to hear your son is happy with the decision to attend Auburn.

Am I correct that a student first sees his acceptance online as my son has, but will receive something soon by email and then by snail mail?

^^ That is correct. My son received his letter and scholarship offer in the mail on Saturday.

Congrats to those that are getting acceptances so far DD received acceptance yesterday in the mail. But no Scholarship info as of yet.

PennyPennyPenny–did your acceptance and Scholarship info come together?

^4kidsinarow

Acceptance and scholarship came the same day…but separate envelopes. Scholarship was in large envelope.

Thank VPM…

Hoping to see a big Env in the mail when I get home tonight.

You’re welcome. I hope there is good news for your daughter also. The acceptance letter was dated Oct. 8. The scholarship Oct 11.

I got a “Very Impressive Tiger” letter, but I never submitted my application.
