Is it bad that I still didn’t get into rutgers? I applied early action.
Decisions stopped right before Christmas. They start back up on Monday. Since you applied early action you should hear this month
How are my chances in state, with a 3 gpa and a 1740. CR- 620 M-590 W-530
If it’s SAS, you should be fine. I’ve seen kids with lower get in. Their process is random so don’t stress if you haven’t heard back.
Alright thankyou, sas is what I’m going for, I just get impatient and nervous
I’ve been worrying about the same thing! I applied for early decision in November and many people at my school have already gotten in and I’m just stressing out more and more each day.
I live in NJ, my SAT is 1750, my GPA is a 3.48.
I have been an member of my school’s German Honors Society, and also Vice president last year and president this year. I have also done ski club and German club each for one year.
I have tutored, but I have barely any community service hours (maybe like 3).
I am taking 3 AP classes this year, one honors, and one independent study for an AP test.
My past years I’ve always had at least one honors course, and I will be taking some classes after school at my local community college to get some credits before I go to college.
I also am fluent in Polish since my parent immigrated from Poland, and I am well on my way to becoming fluent in German.
I’m so afraid that they will decide to reject me because of my lack of community service hours, and also I’m a poor writer so I’m worried that they will hate my essay. Plus, my essay score on the SAT was low.
Are my chances high? Do you guys think I will get in?
I am applying for SAS New Brunswick
Like I know people who have gotten in with lower scores, I have all the honors and ap courses and I’m getting worried about it, Id be confident with your scores though
Well, hopefully we both get in! Good luck
When did you apply? I know people that applied in early November and got their decisions by the end of the month.
I applied late October and still haven’t heard back
I also applied late October. Hopefully the process is truly random as many people on the Rutgers forum have said.
I actually am pretty angry right now though, and I doubt I’m going to get in. My wonderful school counselor informed me today that the 3.48 GPA which she gave to me on a transcript which she ensured is correct is actually supposed to be a 3.16.
Rutgers is probably going to assume that I lied on the SRAR and reject me just from that
Was it a 3.16 on the rutgers scale?
And how important is class rank?
I didn’t know that there is a different scale? It’s a 3.16 weighted, that’s all I know.
I’m not sure, but my school doesn’t even give class ranks.
Rutgers knows that some schools don’t so they probably don’t count it that much.
Like maybe she meant on the rutgers scale, at the bottom of one of the admission pages it says rutgers grades on a 4.5 scale. Id ask her she can probably contact them
No, she pulled up my transcript and showed me, even though on a transcript she gave me 2 months ago it says 3.48.
She said she will call them tomorrow, but honestly I don’t think it’ll do much.
I’m trying to figure out if the overall GPA is my GPA from fresh, soph, and junior year averaged or if it’s actually my grades themselves averaged.
If I average the three GPA’s I get the 3.16, but if I just averaged the grades then it would be much higher. I have all A’s and B’s, except for 3 c’s and one d (which was in an honors chem class)
it also depends on you schools grading scale, like at mine a 92-100 is an A rather then a 90-100
Directly from my school’s website:
A 93- and above
A- 90 – 92
B+ 87 – 89
B 83 – 86
B- 80 – 82
C+ 77 – 79
C 73 – 76
C- 70 – 72
D+ 67 – 69
D 64 – 66
F 63 or below
A 70 or below is an F at my school. I just heard it can cause different waitng, don’t know if that’s true
