Hello! I’m currently a junior in high school, and have been researching the USAFA, and I’ve decided that this is definitely my ideal school, and I’ve heard great things about it from 2 of my older friends who attend there.
Rank: 27/605 (My rank will go up very soon)
My UW GPA right now is: 3.7
Weighted GPA: 4.7
SAT: 1910 (I’m retaking this in June)
ACT: I will be taking this in June as well.
I’ve taken all of the most rigorous courses, including AP classes. I’ve doubled up on math and science.
I have been in the varsity orchestra for 4 years, been in Latin for 4 years, and have been President of the Latin Club for 4 years as well.
I’ve gotten 1st chair two years consecutively in the all region orchestra, and have gotten superior ratings in solo UIL competitions. (It’s little, but I hope it counts) I play my cello for two churches every Sunday.
My major passion is Taekwondo. I am a 4th degree black belt and qualified master and instructor. I have won the national championships for 4 years and have defended my title, and led the demonstration team to a victory in the state and national championships. I’ve won state championships and local tournaments, but I also use my skills to teach others and teach refugees every Saturday at a church.
Some other things: I’m in NEHS (English), NLHS (Latin), I have received the Academic achievement award from the state from a taekwondo association, I’ve attended CTY, and a debate camp. I also speak Korean (I am half Asian and half Caucasian)
I know it may not look like much honestly, but I would like to know if this is solid, and where I should improve.
Also, are SAT Subject tests required/recommended?
I am also debating whether I should take Calculus or Computer Science next year… What does the academy prefer?
Thank you
