I am a freshman at a community college in michigan. I am applying to colleges out of state and USC is among the top on my list. I wouldnt be looking to go until i got 60 credits and an assiociates degree. What kind of gpa should i be aiming for to get into USC with a chemistry major? Is there anything else that will better my chances?

bump.. anyone?

1st, don’t get the Associate Degree…it means nothing once you get the 4-year Degree…I did the same thing…-.-

I’d check what will transfer and what won’t...I’d also recommend completing courses that would cost much more here to take than there. GPA since your coming from a Community College, do whatever it takes to bring in the best GPA…good luck

is there a certain gpa i should have though? Would I get accepted with something like a 3.5 or should I have at least a 3.7-3.8?

I'd suggest you contact your USC Admission Counselor. Contact info is at this page:

S/he can help advise you as to what you need in order to be accepted as a transfer student & which courses will give you transfer credit. Good luck to you--of course, the highest grades you can earn in solid courses, the better.
